I just finished reading a book about a guy that stayed in the projects for 3 years to do study for his school. No officer responded to any calls in the projects unless it was swat team. Ambulances either. Good book

What I want to know is do they distinguish between a burglary and a home invasion? I mean TECHNICALLY all burglaries are home invasion but if someone breaks into your house and you are there when it happens is it still just a burglary or is it a home invasion? Will the cops come? Many people are killed in burglaries gone wrong so how do they handle that?

Unfortunately, that is the politics some police departments have to be part in for funding. The courthouse here, in the City I work in, was forced to cut two sherriff positions. The Chief made a decision that the two sherriff jobs that must go, would be the two guys that manned the metal detectors and searched for weapons. Without being able to protect the Judges, they quickly acquired those two jobs back.
These are all the little games that are played, some are needed and some are not. Now that there are so many people pissed that feel they are losing protection, the police department now has the added fuel to get the resources they need. I say good on them Push back the push back.
NEVER count on anyone to get there in time to save you. Be ready and prepared to defend your own, so that when and if they finally do show up, all they have to do is haul out the body.

I was talking to my dad about this and one of his coworkers told us that at applebees they now have menu screens on the table and you select your own food, they reduced the waiters to just a couple to swing by and bring you refills and things like mustard. sad.
