I think I just put two and two together and got the answer of who this Mark McGrath character is.. If I am correct it is none other than the same "school teacher" who requested admission to the war room on TRR and then started berating people for use of abusive language. Now look at him with all these points for various reasons including using profanity! So much for that "higher than thou" attitude huh??

Now all together guys on the count of three say hypocrite.

I incorrectly misquoted and he should not be held responsible for that. Since then Christopher and I have come to mutual understanding for each other and the situation is dead as far as I am concerned. He is not the person that wrote that quote nor do I believe he will ever do it again. Our tempers got the best of us and we will both pay the price. Some more than others.

Now before I explain my reasons for everything that has happened over the past two days I would like everyone read, analyze and chew on this post before they start wing dinging away. If after the general concensus of the group would like me to leave then that will be the course of action I take.
Now everyone of you should examine my posts previous to 2/1/07 and look at them and wonder why this positive, Dr. Jekyll turned into Mr. Hyde over night. The following will explain it.

Now I am going to have to paraphrase a little because we all know by now that I have not come to grips with using the quote button. My first post started in a thread in which BCFOS came back and antagonized Wes Pollock. I was a member of TRR and used to go there regularly. His actions destroyed that site. When he came in here and tried starting the same trouble on this site I became very protective and defensive. I DID NOT WANT THAT TO START OVER HERE. (Some are aware of this, and if you are not just understand there was alot of underhanded stuff involved). So I used some language that I got in trouble for, rightly so but my intentions were for the best.
Bob Woodard (Griz) brought up the issue of turning the moderation over to people who did not earn it, were not qualified or able to understand the magnitude of this responsibility. He was frowned upon and basically told he was off base (This is paraphrasing too. Bear with me). Anyway, another member and myself decided to test the hypothesis that throw a bloody piece of meat in the water and the sharks will come and feast. So I decided to test the water, using myself as bait. After the initial point infraction for profanity I lost 49 warning points and 114 karma points in less than 48 hours. Almost 20 of those warning points from one person. Many of those points were from that post in which I incorrectly misquoted. My understanding from modification though is that if you hold a serious responsibilty like they have, they should have investigated the thread a little further and searched the answer. I have a few responses in which the people dinged me and then realized it was not me at all. Some didn't care enough to even respond to my PM about why I was being penalized. So I ask you are all the moderators taking their responsibilities seriously or are some egos getting in the way? I honestly believe that some are doing a great job and those should be commended but the others will come out in the wash ( I will probably be long gone and banished by then). Policemen do not shoot first and ask for your identification later. I think in a round about way Bob was trying to get this message across. This community or ours is sacred and I for one had dealt with several people through purchases, trading info, selling etc. All have been very supportive (ex. Mike Greathouse, Terri Manning, Brian Cox, Terry Durham and on and on). So my intent was to prove that if you turn over the reigns to a group of people they still have to be monitored. My research supports the notion and I quote my dad so I can't find a button for that, "The lunatics are running the assylum." So now a bunch of you will say, "Oh he is trying to cover his own butt for his actions." Do the research, read my previous quotes, ask around, anything you want. If you feel you have been duped or feel like a lab rat, I am sorry but like in any experiment, the experimental group cannot know the variables or they will alter there responses.

So now that it is all out in the open those of you that are angry with me, will ding me again. Thats OK because I have big shoulders. Those of you that sit back, consider and think about what I have accomplished you will understand that this new system still has a "golem in the gears". Now is the time to fine tune and mold a better product.

Rich, I know how hard you have worked to make this better and I do feel bad about this little experiment for your sake but my intentions were for the best. Also, the PM i sent you earlier today does mention alot of how I feel on this subject. So ladies and gentlemen, start your fingers on the buttons if you feel you must.
For anyone who has wondered why I prefer to ride alone, the above is a perfect example.

Just imagine you forgot to renew your license plates and they have expired. In the corner of Main and Second Street, a police car stops you and you are issued a ticket. You resume your driving towards your place. When you arrive to Third Street, you see the “multicolor” lights of another police car in your rearview mirror. The officer proceeds to issue you another ticket, for the same infraction, in spite of you stuttering: “But...but...but officer, here’s the ticket I got two minutes ago”…You continue driving and you are once again nailed by another “officer of the law” two blocks down the road. This story repeats itself 13 times between your first ticket and your place. “What a fine town to live in”, you think to yourself...

Dan,
For the analogy to work, might one point out that in that town you need to be stopped about 100 times before you actually pay a fine ?

Having seen this very scenario play out before, in a town NOT under the thumb of The Inquisitors, when it goes to court the judge removes all penalty for any but the first infraction, saying that while the officers did thier duty, it was perhaps a tad over zealous of them all to have done so well to a single driver.

Actually, in Virginia, most times if you renew before your court date, all charges are dropped, but you are assessed "court costs".

Much like here also. They have to get something out of it and that something would be the 150-250 bucks in court costs on a 5 dollar fine.

I never had to pay one. I've only seen it happen when I am in district court for other reasons.

Well it depends. If the mayor of the town just got tired of scofflaws (meaning those who did not FORGET to renew, but purposely chose to flaunt the law) continually thumbing their noses at the law and law enforcement, maybe it would be time to tell the officers to make special efforts to put an end to it. After all, it was YOU who violated the law. They are just doing their job. They don't HAVE to be kind or apologetic to you in the process. Perhaps the lesson learned by the one infraction you may think hard on about repeating the offense again. It may be harsh to those innocent parties who truly did just have a lapse in judgment, but the results will be the same. You will make darn sure next time to not do it again.

But if you are of the frame of mind where you feel your personality will always be in conflict with the laws of the town, the solution is simple, I think. If you don't like the rules the town imposes on you, then move on down the road to another town more to your liking. It's not like there aren't more of them out there. If the only reason you stay at the town is so you can stand on every street corner telling everyone how much you don't like the town, the cops may gladly escort you on out and be done with you.

Law enforcement is normally tasked with making the town suitable for the majority of the people living there who wish to have it a nice place to live in. Certainly the malcontents will find fault with this and believe they are unfairly being singled out and enforcement is bias (or inconsistent, by some accounts) since they cannot be everywhere all of the time. Law enforcement generally knows who they need to keep an eye on, and will do so more closely than other residents who do not have a history of presenting them with problems. And yeah, if you piss on a cop's shoes, he most certainly is going to be keeping a REAL CLOSE eye on you. I'm sure they would rather those people to just behave appropriately, but they are not going to quit their job instead of trying hard to remove the persons causing their job to be more difficult.

Man, aren't analogies fun!

Analogies are cool.

Let's look at this one.

You have a guy, who may have, at some dimly recalled point in history, actually been a good cop. But, with personal tradjedies and prejudices and pressures from life in general, he has fallen below the once high standard he may have, at some dimly recalled point in history, actually maintained. This cop has admitted to being drunk while on duty, more than once if I recall correctly, has admitted to having vendettas against certain member of the township, has actively stated that he would if he could remove certain members of that township.

How fair, which is his job as well as duty, do you suppose this fallen representative of the establishment can and or will be?

Then there are those who come to power through mere luck. One in particular simply had a job and was auto-promoted to beat cop from playground monitor by paperwork, not merit, not the fact that he had exemplfied the standards that should be maintained by those in positions of authority and enforcement. That same individual has also made statements about personal wishes and being "the one" to do in someone, like myself for instance, taking great pride in bragging to his cop buddies that he has in fact acted upon and with his newfound, though totally underserved, powers. This one in particular would most likely, would it put to a vote by the members of the township, not be in enforcement long at all.

But, those are just analogies.

Still though, they can be fun, you're right about that rich.
