Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Help Required
I was given this female Kenyan Sand Boa today as I was told that she was 'slightly over weight'. When I got her out of the bag to my surprise I found a huge monster perhaps described as grossly over weight. What is the best way to reduce her weight.

Well I don't know about Sand Boas but do you think she might be gravid. Just asking as she is very fat in the back end. If not just feed her smaller meals once a week. Or go a decent sized meal every 2. That is what I did for some overfed BCI's I got but I will let the experts give more info.

Wow that is a fat girl! I would think the same thing that John was thinking, is she gravid? Or another thought came to mind, is she backed up? Has she had a BM since you have had her?

HI All
Thanks for your replies. I was told that she had not been put in with the male so that rules out her being gravid, but the owner told me that she had been fed medium mice 4 times a week which is why I assumed that she was over weight. Could you tell me what 'BM' means sorry if I sound thick lol.

Bowel Movement
Try Soaking her for about 20 - 30 minutes in lukewarm water. ( just in case , more than anything)
I would put her on an apropriately sized prey item once every two weeks. Boids have slower metabolisms, and feeding them any more than even once every week can cause them to be obese... It is strange though, how it is only her tail end. But i suppose if you think about us women.... all our weight goes to our hips! hehehe

Overweight Sand Boa
Hi All
Despite having been told that she had not been put in with a male and that she had been fed far to much to my surprise I have just found around 20 babies so I was wrong (or given false information). Thanks to you all for your help and it looks as though you guys were right and I was wrong, never had any dealings with live bearing snakes so thats my excuse lol.
