Then what would you get if you bred a spider to a normal and/ or a pastel to a normal?

Spider X normal= chance of spiders and normal offspring

Pastel X normal= chance of pastels and normal offspring

Spider and pastels are Co-dominant traits, they are either Spiders/pastels or normals

Recessive traits, like Albino, Pied etc... need two copies of the recessive gene, 1 from each parent, and will give you hets.

For example an Albino to a normal will give you all normal looking 100% Het for Albino offspring. One parent passes on the recessive gene (Albino), but it doesn't exist in the normal parent.

Combine 2 Het for Albino and using a clutch size of 8 eggs for example; you should get 2 Albinos, 4 Het for Albinos and 2 normals. However it doesn't always work out exactly, you could be really lucky and get all Albinos, or really unlucky and get none...

Since the normal will look the same as the Hets, they are considered 66% Het for Albino. Meaning there is a 66% chance that they carry the Albino gene.

Hope that helped. I am no genetics expert, there are many posters here that are more experienced and can likely explain it better than I did...

The only way to get to bumble bee is spider x pastel or pastel x spider (or you could use a super pastel). That is your only way in. Cheapest solution, buy a male pastel and female spider which you can do for about $4,000 maybe doable for $3500 later this season. 2 years later you have a good shot at producing bumble bee spiders.

On a different and totally immature subject, am I the only one who notice Sam "Mounts" and "buttsavage" chatting. Are we still on a herp site or did I surf to porn accidentally?

LOL, Evan, after 38 years, I think I have probably heard all of the "Mounts" jokes.....

I am sorry Sam, but I did warn you that it was immature so I am the hook.

On the thread topic though, is everybody watching RDR's journal? He may just hit a striped albino, a pile of leucistics and a bunch of other cool stuff this week!

Those Super Phantoms are insane. The super spot nose was winning my "New Morph of the year" award until Ralph posted those.....

Still early yet and already 3 new Morphs!

None of which I can afford...
