When are they going to legislate people that circumvent the law, whether directly (by hiding illegal animals) or indirectly (i.e., being "grandfathered in)?" I mean, I have a dog that I love to treat like a baby, but when company comes over, he gets kenneled to give everyone peace of mind. He is, after all, a dog--he can't speak & I can't read his mind. I respect others enough to alleviate any fears they may have, even though I feel they are unwarranted. Lots of people are intimidated by big dogs and I am considerate enough to realize that. Shoot, he's big enough to knock me over (and has on occasion), so I take care that it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Now, I am in no way comparing my dog knocking me down to a chimp mauling a woman to the point of being unrecognizable, but come on people--USE SOME COMMON SENSE WHEN IT COMES TO OWNING ANIMALS!
STOP regulating the animals so much and START to focus on regulating the people that own them!
