Little white mites...wood mites?

So I just noticed some very tiny white mites on my snake. Could these be wood mites rather than the infamous snake mite? I'm still going to treat both snake and cage, however, I'd like some opinions on this little white hitchhikers.

Ugh, I feel itchy all over even though I know they don't transmit to humans.

My understanding is snake mites are black~ the little white mites are wood mites or hypo-aspis mites. I always hope they are the predatory mite that eat other mites when I see them~ then I dump out the tubs and put in new cypress mulch just in case.

These are snake safe. Sometimes come along as hitchhikers in bags of mulch that was stored outside. A little PAM will get rid of them.

The first two mobile stages of mite development are white (or off white)...but they are so small they are difficult to see without magnification.
Unless these are that tiny, they probably are not snake mites.
