Ball Python Genome Project?

Does anyone know whether or not there is currently a Ball Python Genome project underway (or genome project for ANY snake species for that matter)? I know the mitochondrial genome has been sequenced, but I have not been able to find any information regarding whether or not the nuclear genome is being looked at anywhere.

If anyone has any info, I'd really appreciate it.

I would highly doubt it, considering that even research into snake diseases isn't high up on the funding list. However, I don't know and would be interested in seeing if anyone else has an inkling into what's happenin' in the scientific snakey world.

I'm beginning to work on it. There are a few pieces of equipment and such I still need to acquire (which isn't cheap), and then I will be looking at it. It is all financed out of my own pocket because no company or institution is interested, which is why it taking so long.

I hope that answers your question.

Well, now that prices have come down CONSIDERABLY for such work, it seems like it's considerably more feasible now than it has ever been in the past...
