UPDATE

The Tarahumara is getting ready to shed for the first time (in my care) and is still a grump.
The caulker is super docile, no hissing etc. and is always out and about. He is very curious. I like the fact that he is active and friendly.

I have read that hog islands can change their color a bit similar to a chameleon? This is very neat if it is indeed true.

Metachrosis (color changing) is found in many, many animals, boas included. They change color due to changes in temperature, feeding cycle, stress, etc. It is more pronounced in Hog Islands, probably due to their very light base color making the change more striking. I found that some of my lighter and more colorful selectively bred Colombians changed color every bit as drastically as Hog Islands.
