Arrow Snake/lizard shipping questions

This is my first year getting ball python eggs, and I am hoping that my boa is also preggo.

So I am doing the debate of shipping? or local stuff...

I have been seeing a ton of issues lately with Fed ex..

so..

I guess I would like ideas on who I should ship thru with snakes (should I get certified with fed ex? etc?)

or should I just stay local?

thanks

I would suggest getting certified through Fed Ex unless you are going to go through Delta which I think is more costly and limits your customers to people near Airports.

Oh, as for selling local?
It works for a while but I have found the market to be very limited after time selling local.

I have had good results with Fed Ex, but I do not ship live animals more than a couple times a month. It is at your risk though.

If you look at how many people ship FedEx everyday a few bad experiences are a drop in the bucket.

We have shipped around 150 boxes via FedEx this year and have only had 2 delays on the boxes and they all made it no problem. Delta is more expensive, but is same day and you can insure it. We shipped 25-30 shipments with delta this year and they delayed 3 of them. Overall FedEx is best just make sure the animals are packed tight with paper so when they ruff handle the boxes the cups/bags stay in place.

Get certified, it really doesn't change anything as far as your basic shipping but when there is a delay or problem if your not certified they give you a lot of crap about it. We got certified and have no problems.

Shipping is a big part of moving babies as you are advertising to your target group of buyers all over the U.S and beyond. Local is good for a few animals but most will end up being shipped out.

Hope this helps.
