ID this snake

I found this snake outside my son's day care provider in a suburb north of Dallas, TX. The tail had been damaged beyond recognition so unsure if any rattle or color. Near a water way runoff from a previously untouched wooded area with small stream now being developed into home community. From what I could find for pics online looks most like a diamond backed water snake. Wanted to run it by some snake people for input. Besides dead can anyone else id what type of snake this is? Appreciate ya.

Not venomous. Its a Diamondback Water Snake (Nerioda rhombifer) Pretty common snake in that area. I live in Florida, but my dad lives in Coppell. See them quite a bit. Wherever there is water, there are these guys.
