My Favorite Insect

I seen this as I was walking towards the front door. I have always liked this insect over all others.

Absolutely agree! They seem to be more visible in September around here, some days I'll count 4 or 5 just hanging on the brick wall of my workplace.

I wish they lived longer.

Those are totally awesome shots! Mantises have always been a favorite of mine. I buy egg cases just to hatch them out & release them on my property.

I'm not sure why exactly (and I know I sound like a total lunatic), but they've always struck me as actually intelligent. They watch, they "learn", they will interact.

And I'm shutting up, lest someone come with a jacket with straps
