Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Not sure if this is the right forums to post this is, so if its not can a admin please move to right 1 for me. Thanks.

I live in Buffalo, NY and im sick of paying $12 for 6 frozen fuzzies at Pet Smart. Ive been looking online and its also not worth paying the large shipping amounts for such small orders of frozen mice. So im wondering if anyone knows of a store in WNY area thats not too far of a drive from me that sells frozen mice in bulk for a decent price. Probably looking to buy 50 ever 2 months or so.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks
Justin

If you have any friends that are into herps it might be worth your time to pool a few people together and make a decent sized order from RodentPro or one of the other online sellers. Best price is usually found when buying in bulk.

or you can breed your own mice, most of the small breeders do that so they don't have to pay more then its worth. I breed rats and mice for my snakes. most of my snakes eat rats but i do have some that eat just mice. I think its fun and worth the time and money. if i were you i would look into breeding a small group of mice. It well save you tons of money.

If you need 50 every 2 months just buy 150 to last 6 months and order them from The Mouse Factory. Once you factor in the cost savings and that you only have to do it twice a year it's worth it. The Mouse Factory has decent shipping rates and good quality rodents.

The other suggestion is to look for a reptile show not to far from where you live and get them from a rodent vendor if there is one. That's how I get my frozen rodents now.

sorry i never replied. i just moved from wny to ohio. if your looking for a good store with quality i would go to markheims pets. its on sheridan right next to royal light. its an awesome shop. all their animals are in great shape. they have an awesome collection of beardies. and they sell everything you need. they sell a lot of frozen and they also breed rodents and will p/k for you. if you wanted to get into breeding they sell everything, rats, mice, asfs, rabbits. theyre not just a reptile shop though, they do everything. even have a parrot nursery. i went here for the 7 years i lived in wny and would suggest no other for reptiles.

if anyone ever tells you about pets plus in lockport, do not go to it. unless you just going to look. they have nasty animals. they have 2 alligators about 3 ft long and they have to lay on top of one another to be in the water theyre in and have no basking site or really any land at all. and all their snakes have mites and every animal is kept cooped up.

and there used to be a reptile shop in n.tonowanda called the reptile place. their other store the fish place is still there but no more reptile store. they do have in the upstairs a ton of feeder breeding i guess. i never seen it as i just went here to get my moms aquarium supplies.

other than that i would suggest no other than markheims. or i would just order off a rodent site. i know markheims sells smaller mice/rats in big bags, but when you need adults i would order.

Feeder rodents in WNY

I don't know how many snakes you have, but if you have a number of them, I have to agree whole-heartily on breeding them yourself. That's what I do. I'm in Hamburg. not only will you save money, but you'll always have a nice supply on hand.

i coast way to much to by frozen mice and have them ship to you. everyone tell me it well coast me 40 dollars to ship 50 fuzzys that's way to much. Im trying to figure out a better way to breed mice i haven't had any luck breeding mice. but i have tons of rats.

buying frozen...

this is just a dumb idea if you dont have alot of stuff to feed(or your rich & dont care about the money?) its so easy to breed mice for your self...even a caveman could do it(lol) sometimes i have to buy frozen...but when i do i make sure its about 4-500 mice to make it worth it for me to pay for shipping.maybe its the hazardest material that makes it so expensive but then if its alot you have to add in the weight...and dry ice is heavy.
