I just wanted to post this to tell everyone about my experience at the newest reptile show in Kansas.
Last weekend I vended at the NEW Konza Reptile Expo in Manhattan, KS. This show is put own by the guys at KONZA Reptile Supply which is a distributor here in the mid-west. This show had a lot of things going against it. It was being held in a small town, on a holiday weekend, the first home game weekend of a major Big 12 school. I was nervous to say the least, in fact I almost pulled out the last minute as I have done several new shows and have always flopped. But I promised the guys that I would be there so I did. Let me tell you that I have done shows all over this country large and small, and this show was one of the best shows I have done of it's size all year. In fact it was the best one I have done of it's size in almost 2 years!
I will go to the extent of saying that next to the awesome new Big Show I did in San Diego this year, this has been the 2nd best show I have done all year!
The table prices were very reasonable at $75ea, the attendance was incredible coming in over 1200 strong! There was still a line of people at the door with an hour and a half of the show left for the day! Probably the most impressive thing next to the attendance was the vendor support. They had people there waiting to help with the load in process, lunch was provided for the vendors, they had a table set up to take credit card payments for vendors that didn't have the ability to do it themselves which you got paid for at the end of the day, and there was always someone coming by to check and see if you needed anything! I can't say enough about this show, in fact I am already looking forward to next years show to do it all again!
I'll close with if you live with in 8 hours of Manhattan, KS and want to do an excellent show, this is the show for you! The only thing I would ask is if you are one of those vendors that likes to come and blow normal Balls out for $15ea then stay away because this market is still very strong and doesn't need that kind of price slashing!
