    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have started building my very own snake room. Its time for them to get out of the house. Its a slow going project as I can only work on it on Sundays for the most part. As some people know, we are trying to adopt our first child, and have been told by every domestic adoption agaency we spoke to the snakes have to be out of the house. Hopefully we will get window in, door on, and shingles in place this weekend.
 
Funny you should say that. On the second day, I hit the same finger twice. It busted open on the first one, the second was just icing on the cake.
 
Looking very nice!!:thumbsup: Can't wait to see the finished product! I'd be curious also to find out what your eventual cost ends up for the project.
 
As will I. I have all the receipts for tax purposes. I went to Lowes and bought a book full of designs. I picked the one that closest fit my needs and ordered the blueprint, but more importantly the materials list. I took that list back to Lowes and the cost was going to be 3600.00. Thats when I decided to wing it and incorporate the help of some good friends that are handy with a hammer. I will tally it up when done. So far we have 4 Sunday afternoons tied up in it.
 
Looks like it's coming along nicely, especially in light of the fact that you have limited time to work on it.
Good luck with the adoption, too!.

that is pretty cool. i need to do that in my backyard. my only question is... are those cap blocks the only foundation? i'd be worried about shifting and sinking.
 
The blocks are the foundation. The red clay should be packed down well enough, and I have a bed of pea gravel under each one. If it settles some, oh well. I don't think it will be much of an issue. I will give an update soon
