    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've always been a ball python fan, and never really ventured elsewhere, but started to take an interest in some of the colubrids, and then the black milk snakes.

One day when chatting with Kara, I asked her if she had any available black milks, and she did. This pair of San Antonio Zoo line arrived today. They are September hatch babies.

I'm very excited to add them to my personal collection!

This is the little girl, Onyx - and she has a bit of stuck shed.

Special thanks to Deborah of Stewart Reptiles who agreed to have them delivered to her house, so I wouldn't have to miss work. I'll pick them up from her place next weekend.
 
Beautiful baby gaigeae's Robin!! These have to be one of the most unique of the colubrids out there. I love my pair, although if the female doesn't put out this spring, it's off to the selling block for her!:rofl:

Awww - poor gal! :D

I haven't decided yet if I'll ever breed this pair, but did go ahead and get a pair "just in case" I change my mind. For now, they are just to be part of my private collection for me to enjoy growing up. I'm very excited to have them!

Kara warns me that the adults have the feeding response of a retic! :rofl:
 
...and she is absolutely right about the feeding response! I hurry up and set the food down and close the door, because once they get a wiff of food and see any movement, it's 'game on':rofl:.
 
Hey John - caresheets on these guys seem to be very hard to find. Do you happen to know of any good ones that you can direct me too? I know that they don't need supplemental heat and do well in the mid 70's, but that a basking spot can be offered to allow them to choose. From the research that I've done, they seem to be very low maintenance critters with awesome dispositions! :)

You know Robin, I don't think I've ever seen a care sheet specifically for them, I ended up just absorbing as much info as possible from multiple sources. What you've got so far is absolutely true though.

Maybe it's time someone did one up.......

Hey!!! Jett is the name of my male!!! Haha its ok we can share :D

I am a black milk addict myself so I understand your excitement!!! I just picked up another female to make it 4 for me now!

And as Fraggin said above, when it comes time for dinner....toss in the food and close the hatch or RUN!!!! They come flying out for food like a dog for a steak!!! At least when they get a little bigger that is.

I dont use any extra heat or basking spots for my guys and they are thriving! During the summer they seemed stressed from the heat and were shedding almost every two or three weeks, but now that its cold out, they seem way better! Best snakes ever in my book :thumbsup:
