I just bought a group of Giant's from Ray at Designer Geckos, it was my first time buying from them. Awesome stuff! The gecko's are great, and it was an easy transaction. Quick reply to emails and great communication.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I figured I'd just chime in here instead of starting a new thread. I ordered 3 leos from Ray about 2 months ago and the transaction went smoothly. All of them looked great upon arrival, but one of them wouldn't eat for me. The other 2 were no problem at all, but the third never would start eating for some reason. She was very chunky and had clearly been in perfect health before I received her, but over the weeks she kept getting thinner. I followed up with Ray and we discussed my husbandry and what prey items I'd tried, etc.
We agreed that I would ship her back to him and he'd refund the price of that gecko. We just completed the return this week and he's already got her eating again, so I'm glad she's back on track. However, I'm even more surprised at his willingness to follow up and refund me after so long. I consider myself a good guy and I've certainly worked with buyers before, but if I shipped out a gecko that had been doing fine in my care and the buyer said it hadn't eaten after two months, I doubt I'd offer a full refund and regardless of what the customer said, I'd be suspicious that his husbandry was inadequate in some way.
So I can say without hesitation that Ray has gone the extra mile and aside from producing some stellar geckos, he's impressed me tremendously with his willingness to stand behind them and make things right when unexpected problems arise. I don't think "make things right" is even a fair way to put it since he did nothing wrong and I wouldn't have even expected a refund, but he offered and I know I'll go out of my way to buy from him in the future and recommend him to others as a result. He is truly one of the good guys in the hobby and probably the best I've dealt with personally.

Ray's a Great Guy
I just wanted to put my thoughts in here too and I thought that it was a bit fitting to have my first post be about the great experiences that I've had with Ray.
When we decided to start breeding Leopard Geckos we knew that we wanted to go to Designer Geckos. They are local to us at only about an hour away or so in good traffic so we decided to drive up there to see what he might have for sale. Unfortunately we got lost along the way and didn't think that we would make it there by the time he closed his store. We called him to let him know that we were coming and even though we got there a little late he stayed open an extra hour or more with us helping us pick out the right geckos for our collection. He was very helpful, answered all of our questions and is always very nice to us at every show that we see him at. And he still asks about how the geckos that we got from him are doing. And I'm happy to say that they are all doing wonderfully.

Ray and Carol are THE BEST!!!
They love each and every animal in their care, and when you visit their store, Ray takes the time to "match" you to your new animal, and will do anything to make you and your gecko happy.
Only problem.....Ray is so selective in breeding and husbandry, and produces such amazing animals, that they have difficulty keeping lots of inventory at any one time. (Actually that's a good thing!)
