Talking CHOCOLATE CHERRY BARS

1 package (4-ounce) regular chocolate pudding mix

1 3/4 cups milk

1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice

1 package (18- to 20-ounce) chocolate cake mix

1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped

1 package semi-sweet chocolate pieces

1 cup chopped nuts

Cook pudding with milk and cherry juice according to package directions.

Blend with cake mix (as it comes from the package) and cherries. Spread in a buttered jelly roll pan.

Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.

Bake @ 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Cool and cut into bars or squares.

if the cake mix calls for water, oil and eggs, do you add those as well or just add the pudding mix in place of it?

thanks!

thank you so much for posting this recipe Donna! The bars were a big hit!

Our office is only about 30 people but after the party there were only 3 little pieces left which is pretty impressive considering I also made lemon bars, peppermint bark and chocolate butterscotch cookies. One coworker described these as 'chocolate marshmallows'

nope, if they did, you wouldn't be able to make chocolate chip cookies

I used the microwave to melt milk and white chocolate chips to make the peppermint bark though, so they do melt, but it has to be a very high heat.
