Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using portable devices to register, as they may quite likely utilize an IP address that does not match your actual city and state.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Philippe de Vosjoli - Giantgeckos.com - Great experience
I recently made two purchases from Philippe and giantgeckos.com. One was for the book "Rhacodactylus - The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care" and another for a partial pinstriped crested gecko.
In each instance, the service was timely and the products, outstanding. The book is a MUST for anyone interested in Rhacs - and his animals are beyond compare - the one I purchased was stunning ( I know that's an overused word in the herp business - but it's an apt description).
I would highly recommend him to anyone (like he needs my recommendation!! Ha!)
One thing you should know - he does NOT live by his computer. I did the entire transaction via email. It wasn't a hassle at all to communicate with him - but it's not going to be instantaneous. I've read a lot of people who get upset if their emails aren't asnwered almost instantaneously - but I don't measure Philippe's business by his quick response time. I did NOT have to wait days, but maybe a day or so. I hightly doubt that he's going to trade multiple emails each day with you. But that was fine with me - he has some of the finest rhacs in the business - and knows his stuff. Plus, he's a genuinely nice man, who works hard to make you satisfied.
It was a huge loss for the herp community when "The Vivarium" magazine shut down. The only magazine left has a distinct anti-breeding anti-keeping feel to it. Given that, I doubt it will be around forever.
I have never bought from Philippe but I met him at a show in Seattle one year back when the Vivarium was still in press.
For such a big name and being such an accomplished herper, Philippe never brushed me off (although I was just in my teens) and was a true pleasure to talk to - we talked about emerald tree boas. If more of the big time herpers would be like Philippe, the herp world would be a better place!
I had the same exact experience as Paul did. I met Phillipe in Orlando one year and we sat and had a few drinks together while i chewed his ear off about herps...by the end of the night I had promised to submit a manuscript to him as we had discussed and a few months later he published my article on treeboas in Vivarium magazine.
Phillipe was already a "big name" in th herp world yet he took the time to talk to an overzealous young kid wtih alot of ideas and probably too many tequilas in him...
I wouldn't hesitate to buy any Rhacs from him considering he is one of the worlds foremost authorities on thier natural history!
