    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

hey what age is your blue bar and who is the sire from screameleons of the ambilobe.
 
The age of my blue bar is about a year old. He was sired by TMAXX and the female was from Brendan. I don't know if you've ever dealt with Vince before but I couldn't reccomend a better breeder. He's real chill, competent, and dedicated to his work.
 
Ya I have dealt with Vince and wouldnt get a chameleon from another place. I have a 7 month old ambilobe from Yurimaru and can not wait until he shows his full potential. I have some pictures of him on here its under 6 1/2 month old ambilobe from screameleons. If you could take a look at him and tell me what you think that would be awesome.
 
Yeah he's definately got some nice colors to him. Screameleons always come through with some brilliant colored chams.
 
Hi I was just wondering at what age did your screameleon panthers really start to show their bright coloring. Bc I have a 7 month old panther from screameleons and he seems to remain dark a lot of the time. Also what do you do for hydration?
 
My guys true colors really started to show at about 7-8 months. I always use a dripper cup to let my guys drink. I'm sure the big thing you here is mist them down a couple times a day. I will never do that because in my experience with chameleons it's more detrimental than beneficial. I killed my first Veiled by misting her. I ended up giving her a respiratory infection. Just puncture a little hole into a Solo cup and let it drip before you go out in the morning and again later in the day when you return.
 
Yes I have a little dripper that he can always drink from. But I have never heard that it could be detrimental to mist them, I usually mist my chameleons 3-4 times a day, but it is a very fine mist and I try as hard as I can not to mist them in their eyes. But about the color situation I dont know Im hoping that my Yurimaru offspring will turn out to look something like his father. But I guess the darker colors means he is more calm bc when he is stressed he has many colors. But we will see where things go.

A dripper is one way to present water to a chameleon. Some will drink from a dripper, others will not. Misting and mist systems have been a common method to provide hydration to a wide variety of chameleon species by all levels of keepers. Misting, in and of itself, does not have a history of health risks. An example of where a health issue could occur is misting a chameleon that is kept in an enclosure that does not have adequate ventilation and bacteria builds-up. An example would be one with many solid sides. It is important to give the enclosure a chance to dry out each day. This helps control bacteria. In general, keeping things clean is important to help control all sorts of pathogens that can spread in an enclosure; even the ever-popular screen enclosures. I use an automated mist system that runs twice a day for 20 minutes. They will often look like they are taking a shower under the mist nozzle. I set it up to be misty and drippy by regulating the pressure to the low side of its capability. Sometimes they will come over and sit right under the nozzle and other times they will move over to the side. Keeping your chameleon well hydrated is an important husbandry function. Find what works with your critter and keep it up.
