    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How have you got the basking light fitted to the top of your Beardie's enclosure?

I'm going to move my Beardie in to a new enclosure but I'm not sure how I'm going to do it..

Do you use a reflector or not? Is there a benefit of using a reflector or not doing so? Also, if you're using a reflector, do you have it hanging inside the enclosure or on top? And if it's on top what do you use to allow the light and heat to get to the Beardie? Mesh?

Also, where do you get reflectors from? I'm in the UK by the wat.


Pictures of the way you've got your heating fitted would be most welcome.
 
I do not have apic, but I use a heat lamp from zoo med and a tight beam bulb and I just lay it on the mesh . I t works well, Gives them a basking area and the also the cool down area. later I will post a pic.
 
I use a regular household 100 watt bulb in a reflector. The reflector concentrates and aims the heat down, and also blocks the annoyingly bright bulb from human eyes. I just set the whole thing right on top of the screen top. This is fine to do as long as you have reasonably strong screen, and it is not the plastic-coated kind.

I also have a few open-top cages. I use the clamp that comes with the reflector to attach the light to a piece of wood laid across the top of the cage.
