I'll get more info on "Scott" for you in after the holiday but he is a scammer and Liar. He told me he'd ship FedEX and shipped a 5.5 ft python via USPS. He voilated the Lacey act and I would not recieve the package to to implication of receipt of illegally shipping live reptiles. She snake was returned to him dead supposedly but aftr he stated he would provde pics of the dead snake, the later recanted that deal. throughout the entire ordeal, he was direspecting me, calling me names, threatening me, etc.
This guy is one of the most unprofessional folks I have ever dealt with. Like I said, I will provide even more details and proof after the holiday. Oh, and he has yet to refund me my money. Considering he lied to me and misrepresented his business practices, he should refund my moneyno matter what the outcome.

I knew some crap on Terry would float to the surface eventually. It's just oo bad it din't come up before I completed my transaction(more like a money giveaway) with him.

You denied the package purposley I even have your E-mails to back it up and dont even acuse me of threatening you. I have all your E-mails and your Threats you sent to me.

He denied the package 3 times purposley and knew the shipping company was g0ing to put a hold on it 5 Days after the 3rd day he denied it. Then it takes 10 buisness days to get back to me. Total of 1 month 1 week till I recieved it back. I have all tracking #'s to prove it!!!

Yasser I told you if you oped the package and was not happy with it I would refund your money but you failed to do so. You deneid the package because I did not give you the tracking # fast enough you said *Quote the E-mail.
I spoke to you 7pm at night and you emailed me threats at 11am the next morning making threats because I did not respond fast enough. 8 hrs later he makes threats and tells me he is not going to accept it and will reject it ever time it comes. He had the tracking # within 14 hr after I shipped it.

I have dealt with Yasser and it was very professional from start to finish. I wish more people were so easy to work with.
Terry Scott (or whatever his name is) apparently committed a serious crime when he shipped a snake via USPS and seems unaware of the implication to the point of posting the information on a public website. Terry should obviously be avoided.

I know Yasser Personally, and have known him for a while, and I can say without a doubt he would never do something like that, He is very passionate about reptiles and I can also vouch for him and say that this post is full of lies and is a pathetic attempt at slander. I am sorry for your loss, but there where so many things you did wrong, and already seem to have a bad reputation here on the forums, I for one support Yasser and Spitfire reptiles, and I know he would never do harm to a potential new addition to his collection.

Like I said, Its sad that just anyone can post threads like this, and I felt that I needed to add my thoughts on this thread even though I don't really post in the BOI often..

Did anyone do a darn thing about this snake being in the box for days...I mean c'mon ... Crime committed or no Crime committed I would of got that snake out of the box...It is wrong and illegal to ship snakes through the USPS BUT give me one example of ANYONE every being prosecuted for it...I never even heard a rumor of someone getting nailed for this... Has anyone? Lots of rules on the books, I know many dealers here who sell tortoises and don't send a Interstate Health Cert. with them..that's a federal lacy act violation isn't it? Personally I'd taken my chances and got that snake to safety!
So why didn't someone step up to the plate and save this poor snake? I seriously doubt even if busted the gov't would come after the buyer who specifically paid for and ask shipping to be done in an legal manner..they simply have no real case..doesn't the welfare of the animal out way all other considerations?...isn't there animal welfare laws that make such indifference to the snakes well being illegal as well?
Just this whole situation seems unfortunate...mostly for the snake!!

At least for me, I check my mail about 1-2 times a week, I would never expect a snake to be sent to me via USPS, Not everyone checks thier mail daily. What blows my mind is this person has a website and seems like he is not fresh into the hobby so WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD HE SEND A SNAKE USPS!!!????...Its pretty commonly known that its NOT OK to do so, I also feel bad that the outcome was the snake died, but I DO NOT hold Spitfire responsible for the death, that lies COMPLETELY with the person who shipped the snake USPS.

He should have known better, and now should take full responsiblity for it...reguardless if anyone has ever gotten "busted" for it or not, Its sheer stupidity that ANYONE would ship a snake USPS.

Seems both guys knew the snake was in limbo in the box...and would most likely stay there...seems both guys knew if nothing was done the snake would perish in limbo...
Spitfire was angry with the service Scott provided ( or didn't provide ) nor did he want to touch a package that was sent illegally...I can understand this..
Scott was a complete moron for sending it USPS and placing Spitfire in this situation...
But my question is for Scott and Yasser...
If you knew the box wasn't going anywhere...if you knew the animal was in jeopardy...why didn't someone just pick up the phone call spca..call the humane society call someone for Christ sakes..but to just ignore the fact that this animal would die in a box if no-one did something..I understand it is Scott responsibility ultimately..BUT do anyone of you really think Scott would do a damn thing!!!Sometimes doing the right thing means taking the initiative ... not turning a blind eye and saying..not my prob..shouldn't of sent it that way!!

If the Mail man had knocked I'm not sure I would have accepted the package.

Yeah it sucks that this snake died but as has been mentioned IE after two days in the care of the postal service he could have already been that way. Not an excuse but the fault here clearly belongs to the shipper. If you want to break the law shouldn't ask others to unknowingly join you or expect them to even in these circumstances. Randy

Very True, Who to know that the snake died during transit to Yasser? I know from experience since I work in the shipping industry, WE DO NOT USE USPS FOR ANYTHING, if you don't care about your package getting there, or the contents inside...yeah its a cheap way to ship, but WE rarely use USPS except for letters...THATS IT!!! they have lost to many shipments or shipments arrive WAY damaged...I agree though....Nobody knows WHEN the snake died, with my experience with USPS I could imagine it possibly perished during the trip to Yasser...But again who knows...

Simple: Tell the mailman upon or after delivery the situation and file a complaint or have them start looking into it. Then you are the responsible person who is reporting an illegal act while saving the snake. You could keep the snake, hand it off ot the SPCA etc.

The USPS might not have done anything about the shipping situation but now Yasser sets himself up for animal cruelty, etc. which looks for worse for someone in the biz.

Let's put this in perspective, shall we?

Yasser is a pharmacist and a father to two children. Reptiles are his passion, but not his livelihood. His family depends on him financially. Violating the Lacey Act, should he have been prosecuted, would surely have meant the loss of his license and his income, and possibly his freedom.

This was a snake that might already have been dead.

I know exactly what I would have done. Those of you who think otherwise are entitled to think differently.

Terry Scott Sanchez killed this snake. Yasser bears no responisibility for that. None.

You don't have to join in the breaking of the law, but don't add to the laws being broken.

Wrong. Sadly, the recipient is just as guilty as the sender under the law. Ignorance is not an excuse, nor is "I reported it" a defense.
