This is just to let everyone out there who wants to know the heads up on a bad guy not to deal with that Matt Hanlon-WS Reptiles, in my opinion is a horrible businessman, and someone to be avoided at all costs. Let me explain. Around the 1st of December I won an adult female striped albino cal-king from Matt on the auction. I sent him the money right away (140.00 including shipping). As you all know December was a bitter cold month just about everywhere, and we decided to wait until after New Years to ship. I started sending him emails in January, and he didn't return the first one until the 17th. He said that a friend had the snake, and that "it would be sent eventually." I was furious! Eventually?! That's not how you do business. Again he would not return email until the 12th of Febuary when he finally told me that the snake was dead. He offered me an adult Amazon Tree Boa as a replacement, and I told him that I was going to breed the cal-king to my male, and that an ATB was of no use to me so I just wanted my money back. Again he would not return emails until finally he wrote back that it had just been a hard winter for him, and that he would try to get me the money. Again he would not return emails until Feb. 26 when he said that his mother had passed, but he was still trying to get me the money. Again he would not return emails until the middle of March when I sent him a threatening email stating that I was going to get him for internet fraud if he did not send the money ASAP. He said he would sell the ATB, and give me the money out of that. The ATB was sold on the auction for 300.00, and he still would not email me back until I saw on herpauction that he was selling a baby boa that he said he had just bought. JUST BOUGHT? Why is he buying snakes when he owes me money. In my opinion he never intended on selling me the snake in the firsy place. I'm not so sure that he even had a snake like that to begin with. Now it is almost April 1st. Four months after I won that snake from Matt on the auction. I doubt I will ever get the money back that I sent him because he does not plan to give it to me. I am not in the business of sending people money in the mail for nothing. He even had the nerve to ask me to give him a good rating on herpauction because other people were slamming him with bad comments. Matt has absolutly no business since, and should not be dealt with in any way unless you just like to give away money. If any of you have had a similar experience with him please let me, and all the other herp fans out there know. Thank you for your time. Ken Casstevens |

2603.html Posted At 18:08:20 04/14/2001 I have done one deal with Matt and while we had a verbal problem at first he was more than buisness like and cleared it up and sent me a very nice snapping turtle which arrived healthy and is doing great even as I write this.I have talkied to his online a few times and he strikes me as a nice guy with alot of reptile knowledge.Just putting my two cents in!!!!!!!! |

It was perfectly healthy when I sent it out to him. I e-mailed him to let him know it went out, I did not recieve an e-mail back from him for atleast 6-8 days.Then he is telling me the snake was dead whe it got here, I dont think so. If it was dead I would have recieved an e-mail immediately. And I dont know where he gets I'm a kid, e-mail me anybody, I can show you a copy of my drivers license, my birth certificate, whatever you want to see. And with Ken, I am trying to sell the orange Amazon to send him his money back, Yes I did have the snake, I was selling it for a friend, when I told the my friend the snake was sold, he told me it was sick, so I waited a week to see if we could curee it, then it died on us, so I told Ken and I told him I would get his money back to him. I have had a really ruff winter. The red tail yes I did purchase it when I owed money to Ken because it was local and I paid 25 for it, I was gunna sell it for more and send that moeny to Ken. Both keep getting bid on and sold, but then no replies to my e-mails. If you want to help out Ken, e-mail me and I'll sell you one of them and get his money back to him. But beleive what you want. Its all up to you.Thanks for your time |

2683.html Posted At 23:21:18 04/17/2001 Although I don't know about that Ken guy, my dealings with WSReptiles have been great. My first purchase was a very nice Albino Burm. This snake was in perfect health and condition. Beautiful coloration as well. Couldn't have asked for better. And the second time I bought a Jungle Carpet Python. Again, a snake that was in perfect health and condition. Yet another beatiful snake - both exactly how they were described. So judging by my experience, I would definitely recomend someone buying from WSReptiles. |

The people who gave you good comments on this forum were ,in my opinion,VERY lucky to have had a positive experience with you. If you were an honest businessman, and really intended on giving me back the money I sent you, that you obviously spent, you would have done it by now. It doesn't take this long to come up with 140.00. Need I remind you, the snake was won in January. So it was a bad winter for you. WAH! It was a bad winter for me, but I chose to buy a snake from someone I assumed to be a reputable seller. I guess that's what I get for assuming. I haven't received an email from you in some time now. Did you really think I would just forget? You know my email address, but yet I've heard nothing. If you really plan on getting me my money back, which I doubt, contact me immediatly, but right now I am just trying to get the word out to all the honest herpers out there who want to know someone to avoid. We are all extremely tired of getting screwed by people who seem to have no business ethic. This is my opinion alone based on the very bad experience that I have had with Matt Hanlon. 3305.html Posted At 16:03:44 05/13/2001 Just a little addition to my post yesturday. On Matts reply on April 16th he stated that he was still trying to sell the orange ATB to pay me the money. That would be ok except that on one of his ratings on Herpauction the guy that he DID sell it to received the snake on April 10th on his doorstep dead as hell. Go ahead and dig yourself a little deeper Matt. How are you going to lie yourself out of this one? There was a mistake on the previous posting. The snake was won on the first of December, not January. It has been over 5 months now, and still no sign of Matt making good on this, or even thinking about it. In my opinion people like Matt should be put out of business. Frankly, I don't see how it hasn't happened already. I am not going to take up this forums space, and time by adding a bunch of different postings, but I AM going to keep adding to these threads until I receive the money I sent you, Matt. Also, I am going to keep posting negitive comments on every other herp site that I possibly can to let everyone know how you do business. This may seem extreme to some of you, but I sent him my money in good faith. He chose to keep my money, and give me nothing for it. He might as well have come into my house, and taken it in person. I guess if some people get screwed like this, after a while, they just let it go. Well, Matt, I'm just letting you know that I don't like to get taken, and I will not rest until I have the money in my hands. Thanks again to the forum for their time.
