I placed an online order on or around March 8 FOR 500 wax worms, and have yet to recive a single worm. I called and left 2 messages since then, and they have yet to get back to me. I have been very unhappy about this entire experience. Has anyone else had a problem with Worm Man? Can anyone recommend a more reliable source for feeder worms? |

2283.html Posted At 14:25:17 04/06/2001 Hi there, sorry to hear about this bad experience. A friend of mine just got some super wriggly big fat waxworms from New York Worms and she is very happy with those and everything else she has ordered from there, along with other people I know, too. In addition (incase you use mealworms as well), my one leopard gecko will not eat any mealworms but their mealworms in partricular as well... they are very soft, nice and live a long time. I am unable to get any from them now, my friend brought the worms up, but if I was in the US, I would only order from them. Hope this helps you!!! (btw, their site is www.nyworms.com) Trace |

2290.html Posted At 17:23:56 04/06/2001 That's funny, considering that they both advertise to be "farms", and neither of them produce one insect. They both dropship all thier orders... Just a bit amusing! If you look around, you can find cheaper prices from others using the same farms. John |

2303.html Posted At 22:07:58 04/06/2001 Yep, I had the same experience with them. They don't return phone calls or emails. I ordered from them one time and my crickets came a day later than they were supposed to and half were DOA. It took several calls faxes and emails before I could reach anyone. |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
2305.html Posted At 22:27:05 04/06/2001 ~Sorry you all had such a tough time with WormMan..I, on the other hand, have had difficulties with everyone BUT them! I've had herps for 20+ years and have been through just about every supplier there is. Whether WormMan produces their own insects or not, they have always been right on top of things for me. This last delivery was delayed for a week, but it turned out to be an error in MY ordering. Once it was straightened out, they had it shipped very quickly. All but a very few were alive and healthy! I even specify the size of waxworms I need and that is what they send me. ~They were quick to replace an order that got held up during the winter and arrived DOA...charging me nothing. The order was replaced within just 4 days. ~As far as contacting them and communication, they have acknowledged each and every one of my emails within 24 hours. ~With the immense quantity of orders this(and other places) must get, I tend to give them all a second(even a third) chance before I give up on them. Every other one has gone through all their chances with me, whereas WormMan still has the lead in product AND customer service. ~I know they have, recently, been going through tremendous changes. This could explain some of the problems you all have had. ~ Perhaps, an email insisting, nicely, that you have issues with their service and are very unsatisfied might be worthwhile. I find it hard to believe that I am the only customer they value. {be sure to email direct from their site, it helps} Jude ~The Waving Dragon~ |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
2312.html Posted At 00:51:08 04/07/2001 Worm man contacted me today through e-mail with no explanation of why they did not return my calls. They told they e-mailed me weeks ago to tell me of a delay, but I received no such notification. If I did, I would have cancelled the order and gone through another supplier. They then said my worms were already shipped several days ago, and I should have recived them. No luck yet. Told me to e-mail tomorrow if still no sign of my worms. |

2323.html Posted At 10:44:53 04/07/2001 Yep, same problem. Last year I ordered a large quantity of crix and they arrived DOA. It took 3 months to finally get this resolved after numerous e-mails (most were not responded to,) and lots of lame excuses. |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
2437.html Posted At 16:27:25 04/09/2001 You should have checked the Board of Inquiry first. I have posted about them here in the past. I ordered from them and they never sent anything. I emailed and asked about it after a couple weeks. I was told that my credit card was not going through. They said they had contacted me. (but I never heard from them) I checked with my credit card company and they said there was nothing wrong with my card. I emailed Worm Man again and this time he told me that I was trying to use a stolen credit card and he was turning me in. I just laughed at him, I had already used that same credit card with him a month before. Now it was stolen??? The end result was that I told him what I thought, he got mad and called me some names and that was that. I would never use them again! I ordered from Grooms after that and have been 100% happy with the shipping, cost and quality. |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
2506.html Posted At 00:34:48 04/12/2001 i also have bad experience on worm man;s worm farm. before i ordered anything, i have e-mailed them to ask several quesions, and i received replies within 1 day and they seemed very helpful, so i thought they would be good guys. i have ordered 1000 crickets, 1 culture of fruit flies, and 1000 waxworms from them. after 2 days, i have received the crickets and fruit flies, and i got an e-mail from them saying the waxworms will be coming in 2 days later. 3, 4 days later, i still have not received my waxworms, so i e-mailed them, this time, since they already charged me, they did not reply my e-mails, no phone calls, nothing, for almost 3 weeks, then i finally received my waxworms 4 days ago, which was 19 days late. although their price is pretty cheap, i would not order from them anymore unless i hear they have improved. |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
2514.html Posted At 03:30:42 04/12/2001 This is in response to Jeff Houston's post. I had tried to do business with Groom's Cricket Farm also. They sent me crickets on credit. Basically he said,"I'll send you your order and you can just send back payment when you receive them." This was totally unheard of to me. So he did send them. They arrived all dead and were winter packed just like I paid for. But, it wasn't Chris Grooms' fault. They arrive late due to the post office's delay. So, I called Chris up and told him about it. He immediately sent me a replacement order and said he would send them Overnight priority. I offered to prepay him for them and he said, "Don't worry about it , keep the same agreement as before." So , he sent them out from Georgia post office on December 20, 2000. They didn't arrive til' Christmas morning(December 25th). All dead needless to say. I am so disappointed with my local post office for this. I was upset once again and didn't know quite what to do. Chris had sent me 2 shipments of crickets each totalling about $15.00 each shipment with an additional $18.50 for the second one for the overnight fee. I didn't want to pay for them since he guarantees live delivery, but I felt bad because I didn't want him to assume that I was trying to rip him off or something. I didn't call him or anything for days . He sent a bill and I was like, what?? I has ASSUMED that he knew I received the shipment late. Never assume folks. It was very rude of me and unprofessional not to contact him immediately. A mistake that I will never make again. After getting the bill , I finally called him and told him of the ordeal. He dismissed it very casually and said, " I am sorry for your trouble and I hope that you will choose to do business with us again in the future." What a professional. I would recommend Groom's Cricket Farm to anyone. That's all the experience I can offer on farms. Thanks everyone for listening. Sincerely, David L. Hinojosa |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
2796.html Posted At 06:50:02 04/21/2001 I placed an order of 1000 crickets, 1000 superworms, 1000 mealworms and 250 waxworms with wormnan. when the order was 4days late i tried to call but they never answer their phone and I kept leaving messages. It took three days of phone messages and e mails to finally get a response. Service was unprofessional, poor and dishonest. There answer to not being able to answer the phone was they were busy farming...and as has been already stated all their orders are contract work...your getting the leftovers from another business when they have time to finish their own feeder business. After several tries my crickets were sickly bug infested and half frozen. Time fron initial order was three weeks! I tried working with them but how can you when communication is so poor. Don't waste your time. |

Re: Worm Man's Worm Farm (BAD GUY)
3888.html Posted At 00:04:44 05/30/2001 I ordered 1000 Adult and 3/4" mixed crickets and 3000 large mealworms from them on May 9th, it is now may 30th and all I got was a box of 1/2" crickets. The mealworms still have not shown up and they are not responsive at all. All they said was " we're sorry your not happy!" and nothing about the size discrepancy of the crickets! The worst dealings I've had ever!!!! (Gave Wormman 2 tries since he is in the same state) This is the second dealing with them and I'm dissatisfied both times!! Boy am I sorry!!!! Should've learned my lesson the first time!! and.... still waiting for my mealworms!!! Going back to NYWORMS.COM!!!! Always been great and ship fast!!!!! |
