Hi all-Just wanted to say that I had a long talk with Jerry Tubbs on Saturday night. We have cleared everything up on the deal with the boa that he sent me. Basically, he wasn't aware that his daughter had accidentally shut the snake in the rack system on its head before it was shipped to me. He stated that apparently the snake tried to sneak back out and she shut the drawer too quickly. He wasn't aware of this until the last day or two when she said something about it to him. Jerry has agreed to take the snake back on Monday and see if he can nurse it with his vet's help. He is going to replace it with a healthy and nice looking male Hogg. We also had a talk about the rest of the stuff, too. Jerry was very pleasant with me and was willing to work through everything that he could. To me, that is being a good business man who stands behind his animals and I appreciate this greatly! Thanks again! Kim Houser |

2630.html Posted At 20:55:58 04/15/2001 I also wanted to clarify that originally, when I first received the snake from Jerry, we had agreed that I would keep the snake for at least over the weekend to see how it did. I was hoping that it was something that would improve. Jerry never told me that he wouldn't take it back, and we did mutually agree that I would wait and see if it got better for a few days and then I would touch base with him to let him know. |

2637.html Posted At 10:23:29 04/16/2001 Sorry, but an animal that had it's head slammed in a rack system hard enough to show neurological symptoms 2 days later should have showed even worse signs of impairment when the animal was removed from the cage for shipment. I would be VERY leery of ANY snakes you are shipped by this person. He has shipped ill snakes in the past. Great that he would wanna fix it....but he should NEVER have shipped an impaired Boa in the first place. This is NOT the first time this has happened and I am sure it won't be the last. TC |

2643.html Posted At 20:10:08 04/16/2001 So, where did the mites come from?....and what about how the animal was packed and shipped?...what about him blaming you for the snake's condition upon arrival?....these are all practices of a good businessman?....Caveat Emptor. Sal Thomas |

2645.html Posted At 21:41:33 04/16/2001 I understand what you guys are saying and you are right about a lot of it. However, I want to give Jerry the benefit of the doubt, in that he will more than likely be very careful and be aware of the condition of the snake that he sends me as a replacement. I will quaratine it as I do with new arrivals and I will definitely post the condition of the animal when it arrives, good or bad. However, maybe I am too nice, but I have been screwed before where there was no resolution and the attempt to make things right is appreciated. |

2974.html Posted At 22:11:14 04/28/2001 For the record, I've seen Kim's animals in person. All are in perfect condition... mite free and healthy. Any mites that pop up are NOT from her collection. |

Re: Jerry Tubbs-UPDATE
3152.html Posted At 02:22:21 05/05/2001 I have dealt with Jerry Tubbs. I don't know him personally, I only sold him some boas and traded for a Boa he had. I posted a good guy post before reading the rules (shame on me) I want to appologize for that before going any further and I won't make any excuses. To start with he bought some boas from me. When they arrived he said they seemed to have a slight respiratory infection and he had them checked by a Vet and gave them medicine and now they are fine. They were healthy when they left and I guarantee they arrive live, healthy and feeding. Then we discussed doing a trade. I was very leary, nothing to do with him personally, I had just been ripped off a couple times and I am not a very trusting perason anymore and I didn't know anything about this site, until Mr. Tubbs told me about it and asked if I would come here and post about him after receiving the snake, so I did. My opinion is my own. I don't say something without merit. I got the boa and it had a slight respiratory infection so I took her to the Vet got some medicine and now she's fine and eating like a pig. No mites, IBD tremors or anything to complain about. I have her still in quarintine, where she will remain for six months. She has been treated, has all my boas have, for parasites and I have never had one test positive for parasites (knock on wood). I don't know his character, but I have to believe if a parent says his child is sick you have to believe that until there is proof to disprove it. How many parents would imply a sickness on their children. The simple thought of one of my kids getting some terrible sickness is just too much to even consider. Someone that would tell such a lie would be opening themselves up for a real tragedy. Like they say be careful what you wish for. I had a 6 year old foster child with diabetes and he had to have shots every day, he had to eat like 6-7 times a day all kinds of stuff. We had to always check his blood surgar. I thank God I never had the trouble with him that Mr. Tubbs has had with his son. As for his personal life it's not for us to judge, it's not our place, nor are we qualified. If Mr. Tubbs is less than honest then as they say what goes around will come around and cream always rises to the top. If he's not the cream, he won't rise. Things happen. Murphy's law will always guarantee that. When we ship our snakes all across America and where ever, we basically cross our fingers and hope things will be alright. We don't know what they come in contact with or what they're exposed to./// Jerry I hope your son is well and doing fine and he and your family will find peace soon from this tragic sickness./// As for the webmaster I would like to commend him for this site and the responsibility he took upon his self to provide it. I have fought for this country so places like this can be readily available. So we can come and complain, not whine and snivel. Sometimes I get Pi$$ed when I see places like this and some one says it should be removed or they do things to make the provider mad enough to close it out. If you don't like it there is a tiny X in the upper right hand corner that will take you away from here as quickly as you came. I get really angry when someone says they can't stand the violence on tv or the music today is appauling, well, there is a knob that turns that thing off and oh look there is another to change the channel. People are quick to defend something when it pertains to them or helps them, but the second it doesn't provide a need for them or it exposes their misdeeds, then they are the first to condemn it. Rich has taken a great responsiblity here and I am sure it is a pain, but don't drop the flag man, there are very few of us left. It's what they want, to hush the truth. I agree with the above stated rules. If you don't have the balls to post your true full name and E-mail address don't waste our time or space. Nuff said. Ernie |
