It might be easy for a bad dealer to come here, post something good about himself under a false name and somebody elses E-mail, somebody buys from him because the read his fake post, and they're screwed. It's not that hard to make up a fake name in the first place. I'll even make an attemp at it now. Here it goes "Jim Baylor". See how easy it is? Also about E-mails. If you use another persons E-mail you could get away with it since it's a real E-mail adress. |

2873.html Posted At 14:56:03 04/23/2001 I figure that over time, the people posting with fake email addresses and names to say good things about themselves will be balanced out by the same number of people posting the same way, but saying bad things about those same people. ;) Realistically, most people that are scamming others are doing it because it's the easy way and are basically too lazy to build a quality business for themselves. Once they figure out all the work it's going to take maintaining multiple valid email addresses and having to keep them all straight, they'll soon tire of doing that. Eventually the people telling the truth will win out just from overwhelming numbers. It is certainly in everyone's best interests to get as many people involved here as possible. The more spotlights we put on people, the less likely it will be that they will escape notice. I think I'm doing my part here, so it's up to you all to spread the word. And convince people that they are not helping anyone by being shy about posting their experiences, whether good or bad. I thank you all for helping to make this a resource that people can call on to help make a sound, rational decision when they are considering doing business with someone. |
