Hi, Well what should I do. I sent someone a postal money order sometime around Nov. for reptiles. This person said that it was cold and that we should wait till spring. We did then in May I contacted the person and they said that the reptiles died. They said they would refund my money but I'm still waiting. I sent a Postal money order. What should I do? This is an individual and not a company? I'd appreciate help either on or off list. Thanks Seps |

3580.html Posted At 11:51:35 05/23/2001 I'd go ahead and file it with the post office. You have little to lose at this point |

3620.html Posted At 00:06:11 05/24/2001 I'm sorry to say that there is not much the post office will do with a mail fraud case, unless it involves a large scale scam. It really has to be a newsworthy case for them to actually do their job. Others here will tell you that you should file a mail fraud against this person, but the truth is they will not deal with it, I have been there, done that. If you live in the same state you can file criminal charges. The best this you can do is to post this persons name so others will not fall victim to this person also. Sorry that I could not be more help to you. |

Re: mail fraud?
3660.html Posted At 17:42:34 05/24/2001 My local post office took care of what could have been mail fraud, very quickly and effectively. This was not a large scale deal, the other person was basically trying to rip me off of animals and cash worth about $500. I would suggest taking it up with the Postmaster general. |
