watch out for them, they are NOT reliable, unprofessional, and unreliable. after i placed an order of more than $200 online, they charged me immediately. then 2 weeks already, i sent them e-mails, NO REPLIES until yesterday, they sent me 3 e-mails which attachments that could not be opened. i just asked when am i going to get my order, just a simple question, never got replies. i am going to file a lawsuit towards them since i already gave them more than enough time to do anything that they should and can do. such liers should get the appropriate punishments. |

4320.html Posted At 03:17:02 06/09/2001 Is this for live animals, or supplies? Living in central CA where temps can be to high to ship animals for as much as 5 months out of the year, I have had to wait as long as 2 months to send or receive a shipment. Right now I'm sitting on a shipment that I have been unable to ship, because of high temperatures since they were paid for. May is normally one of the months that it is safe to ship here, but just my luck (and the buyers), May this year was the hottest May since they started keeping records. Of course, I always try other options, in this instance I am going to go to the Bay area (250 miles) next week to get my customers shipment to him. As far as payment, if I know there is going to be shipping delays, sometimes I pay in advance if I really want the animals, sometimes I tell them I'm interested, but don't want to pay up front and hope that when it is time to ship that they still have the animals. I think communication is the key, always keep the customer informed, I check my e-mails daily sometimes multiple times a day, so that everything is up to date. In your situation there may be a reason for the delay, but either way I would say that they are definetly not doing good bussiness, by not keeping you informed of the situation John |

4327.html Posted At 10:35:00 06/09/2001 Felix, I am sorry to hear about your situation, but unfortunatly you are dealing with a company that uses a wholesalers pricelist, which he marks up to sell to you. He never sees the animals that are being sent to his customers, he places the order with the wholesaler then they are shipped out directly to his pet shop in Georgia, Reptile Warehouse or they are drop ship to you. It sounds like you order quite a few animals, why don't you bypass the middle man and go directly to his source. Feel free to e-mail me or call @ 770-867-0540 Good luck, Michael Knight Hotlanta Reptiles |

4330.html Posted At 10:50:11 06/09/2001 hi, thanks john, ian, and michael. i did not order animals. i ordered two 65 gallon reptarium, two 38 gallon reptariums, some coconut bark(bedding), three 24" florescent strip light. total was $203.60, i placed the order in may 28. as long said, they should keep in touch with the customers, if not daily, at least when the customer has some questions, they will at least give an answer, which they did not. well, i posted the message just to hope people will not fall into the trap and get their money lost plus all the worries. thanks again for all 3 of you, i really appreciate! felix |

Re: www.reptileshack.com(SUPER BAD GUYS)
4403.html Posted At 15:50:17 06/11/2001 Felix is correct. We did screw up. At the time he placed his order we began to move the store and instead of it taking 2 days, it took 5 days. Reptile Shack is not a bad company, in fact we have many VERY satified customers. Sadly enough, at about the same time as we began the move, someone infected our office computer with a virus and the 3 e-mails with attachments Felix received were automatically generated by our computers before we knew what was happening. I have come to find out that the attachment contained a virus that was sent back to who ever sent an e-mail to us. We weren't hiding from communicating, we just want to avoid sending out viruses to everyone. We finally got rid of the virus on Saturday night and sent out some important e-mails, like Felix's, on Sun. Again we did screw up. The e-mail Felix received explained this same thing and I asked in that e-mail if he wants the order. If not we will gladly refund his money. Sadly enough there are many people who are jealous of the success of Reptile Shack. Mr. Knight happens to be one of them. I loaned Mr. Knight products to start his business several years ago and am still waiting to be fully paid. If he did it to me, he might do it to others. There are many unscrupulous people in this business, customers do always have to be careful of whom they deal with. Felix's experience is not the norm for Reptile Shack customers, but I can tell you that there are several other customers also waiting for their orders and they should all be shipped within the next 2 days. |

4476.html Posted At 06:33:57 06/13/2001 My apologies to the webmaster and anyone reading these posts. I did not post my full name in the previous post. A quick update...After speaking to Mr. Fung and explaining the situation in it's entirety, he chose to continue with the order. His order was shipped the following day after he gave us the green light. |

Re: www.reptileshack.com(SUPER BAD GUYS)
4494.html Posted At 17:31:28 06/13/2001 In response to Mr. "Harris's" post. Stating that I owed him money for products. First of all, I have no idea who Mark Harris is. I have never had any dealings with him. The only one that i have had dealings with is Mark Farber at Reptile Warehouse. For a debt of $200, which Mark was paid by Southeast Animal Talent for work done by me, through Reptile Warehouse in the amount of $250. Mark claims that the check was never recieved. Though I have a copy of the cashed check made out to Reptile Warehouse. As far as jealosy, after I refused to become a partner in Reptile Warehouse, Mark began to spread slanderous rumors and continues to deny the existence of ANY other reptile shops in the state. He seems to have a serious problem with competition. Some business people are just like that. When someone develops a bad reputation in any industry, most will try to change that by changing the way that they do business. By the same token, some of those people would rather just open another company under another name. Some go so far as to change the name by which the owner is known, like saying that their middle name is actually thier last name. Just out of curiosity, I am wondering what the "H" in Marc H. Farber stands for. Maybe Marc Harris knows. No matter how hard some people try, they just can't escape their reputation. Michael Knight Hotlanta Reptiles |
