JP Pets: Do NOT ever get reptiles from him. Ever. I told him that the most important part of my order was 1.1 adult ciliatus, I got 2 month old babies. I told him I wanted 3.3 red eyes, I got froglets (more on this later). I also told him I wanted 4 fat tails, to make up for the fat tail without a tail, he gave me extra one with mouth rot! To boot, the containers inside were not taped and half the animals got out the holes in the box and were running around the ups truck. When I first called him, he said to take it up with ups. About the babies he sent me, he said ship them back at my expense and pay for shipping for new animals. I did not think I should pay for his mistakes. He also said that I could have credit and then would never send me a fax and when he did, he sent me a retail list!!!! All the prices were doubled! Mind you I am a pet store.

Ward's World of Reptile Propogation: Asked again for 1.1 ciliatus, got 2.0 ciliatus. I am having difficulty getting a pair! Wanted me to buy another 1.1 pair, um, if he couldn't properly sex them the first time, what would make me think he can do it this time?

X-treme Reptiles: Alfredo is a pretty nice guy, I would buy from him again. He sent me a wrong reptile and then sent me the right one and didn't charge me shipping or for the animal. A true businessman pays for his mistakes.

Basically, I am not saying the above places are bad, but I just want others to know my experiences. If you are buying something unseen, true business etiquette is to send the person what they purchased. I am probably rambling b/c I am tired. Good nite.

JPpets-Bought 10 baby boas for 30 bucks each. All were dull looking, had mites, and parasites. Most lived after receiving medicine. Gave my whole collection mites! In my opinion they are not to be dealt with. I did not call them, and tell them of the poor quality animals they sent me, I just won't buy from them again. Why would I have any reason to think any other animals they would send me would be any different. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Just a reply to the above message from Ciro. I work at JP Pets and i am the one he spoke with after he received his first order. When he placed the order he did NOT say that he wanted adult frogs, so we sent him what we had in stock which were babies, and second, i do not feel it is our place to place for mistakes made by UPS. As far as a price list Ciro, JP Pets doesnt have differant list for retailers and wholesalers nor do we sale to the public, any one who has ever called me knows this because i always ask what pet store they are with.

Crystal,
As a breeder, retailer, and wholesaler i take offense to the fact that you say your not responsible for UPS mistakes. We have the attitude that the customer is never wrong. We've been shipping with UPS for over 5 years and have had only 3 shipping problems due to UPS. In each situation we reshipped the order immediately to the customer and then we took it up with UPS. If you orderd a computer, camera, stereo, or any other kind of durable goods, would they say sorry can't help you. No they would reship and take it up with the carrier. No excuses, no B.S. All the herpers should expect the same when ordering animals. If in doubt don't buy. Also you should ask and expect a guarantee no matter what kind of animal you order. Of course the length of the guarantee will depend on the animal orderd. In passing shop sensibly and use alot of common sense. E-mail me if you would like to know more about our company. Take care and hope to hear from you. Ciao.
