I would like the publics opinion on a matter I'm currently involved in, i will not release any names involved right now so the people involved will have a chance to make the situation right, but I'd like to see what everyone's opinion on this matter A few weeks ago i purchased 25 ball python's from somebody, the set price was $200 for the group, me and a friend went together to purchase these snakes, i gave this person $140 in cash in person and my friend sent him $60 by Paypal, the snakes were supposed to be high quality CB 2001 balls, the person i purchased them from needed the cash up front to make the purchase for the balls from his "source" they were supposed to arrive on wed. i gave him the cash on that Monday, well WED. came and went no snakes, i emailed him and was told they would be in Friday, well Friday came and went and still no snakes, so i started to ask for my money back, but was told the money was already sent out and i couldn't get it back but the snakes would be there in a couple days, fine i let it slide... a few more days passed still no snakes, finally 4 days later i received an email telling me the snakes have arrived but most are dead, i can pick up half my order if i want but thats all.. i tell him i don't want the snakes if half came in dead, i start to ask again for my money back, this person refuses and says i can only have my money back if his source refunds it... i tell him that he is responsible for my money not his source.. he disagrees, i let the matter slide for a couple more days cause he says he is trying to get the money back, i continue to email him of and on for another week, finally i get an email saying he had a necropsy done on the snakes and that it was inconclusive so he source was not refunding the cash so "we" were screwed... we are now exchanging email back and forth as well as the other person involved arguing over a refund. This person refuses to refund our cash will not answer my emails and tells me if i keep emailing him he will consider it harassment and press charges. he keeps telling me to call him, i personally don't have long distances but the other guy involved does has called several times and gets no answer.. This guy is now trying to hold me responsible for half the cost of shipping on the balls and half the price of the necropsy.. His opinion is we were half and half on this order and since the balls came in dead were both out money so thats that, but I've never had the snakes in my possession nor did i ever see them i never asked for an necropsy, i made the deal with this guy and never had contact with his source nor do i know who this source is...... my opinion is that i made a deal with this guy, he should of not made a deal with snakes he didn't have yet, and since he can't produce the animals he should pay up... but before i consider going to court....which i can since he lives fairly close, i want your opinion OK so now that you read all that, this is my question??? Should this guy refund our money or is his source responsible for my lose? anyone with an opinion respond. and remember to list your first and last name or it will be deleted thanks |

5359.html Posted At 07:44:49 07/06/2001 I'm just wondering how you believed that he had 200 CB ball pythons that weren't even in his posession. Obviously he imported them, and as most people know, there is usually a high mortality rate for imported farm raised balls. I would like to see you get your money back, but I think next time you should think through a deal before agreeing to it. Even if the balls had all come in alive, you would have had a tough time keeping them alive, I'm sure. |

How anyone can give monies to someone who does not even have anything in the hopes that he was going to get something, and now has received nothing, and wants everyones opinion on the matter! |

5375.html Posted At 09:27:16 07/06/2001 Jerry, you may have missed the point, i posted this knowing the person responciable for this does read this forum daily, i'm hoping after he reads this and all the comment he will see his faults, i did this to try and avoid having to go to court, this is the same reason i didn't post his name in hopes he would come threw, I have done buisness with this person before and had no idea he would pull this kind of stunt, maby after seeing how his fellow herpers feal it will make him think, and i'm sure he would reither coem threw on this deal then have his name added to the story above.... |

You are obligated in not only mentioning who he is but the scam of not returning your money because the people HE was getting them from had some problems is beyond my scope of comprehenion. Not only are you entitled to a full refund, but an apology Once you heard that a 3rd party was involved (namely the source of the Pythons) that in itself should have given you a RED FLAG, that this is NOT A GOOD DEAL, actually its NO DEAL. You commited the biggest crime by not controlling the situation with LIMITATIONS, before you gave the money. I can assume as well that you have nothing in writing. The person involved apparently does NOT CARE of the consequences, nor is he looking for future business. You are not doing yourself nor anyone else a favour by keeping his name a secret! |

Yes you should get your money back and you should tell us who this worthless human being is. This site is truly a wonderful thing to have because it brings to light the dark side of the herp industry and maybe help people avoid a bad situation. There's too many people doing this kind of thing out there, and this board is for posting those people so the public knows. 5501.html Posted At 22:11:17 07/08/2001 It seems to me, using this board and the threat of exposure worked to leverage your refund, but the real purpose of this board is to actually expose the shysters so that people reading this board can be forwarned.. It is my opinion that the name/info of the person who instigated this thread, especially since he was selling WC as CB, should be posted. Say the name, and let the readers make up their own minds. |
