Posted At 18:37:56 10/23/2000 ...and that's exactly the attitude Rick takes with you after you spend $40,000 with him in 6 months and then have serious problems with animals in one of the litters he bred. Rick's promise to stand behind the animals he breeds is worthless. I invite everyone reading these postings to revisit the issue once the court case is over. |

Gentlemen, please.... (Currently 0 replies)
Posted At 18:42:07 10/23/2000 This is NOT a flame war forum. Just state facts and leave it at that. If you make this into a long drawn out flame war with no factual content, then all of the work you have done posting will be wasted when I have to delete the entire thread. I will NOT delete a thread because someone does not like it and asks me to do so. But I WILL delete a thread that violates the rules of conduct while you are in here. Nigel, Rick posted quotes from VPI's website. If you disagree or find the quotes in error, please post factual information that will refute it. Rick, please post an email address with your postings and identify yourself. Anonymous messages are frowned on here. I only give one warning about this, and THIS is the warning. Webmaster |

Posted At 19:02:21 10/23/2000 I do not disagree with the factual information Rick posted from the VPI website. I am sorry that this particular posting has drifted from the facts. I have documentation (checks, receipts, etc.) to back-up all information contained in my earlier posting about Rick Crew. I will ignore further inflammatory e-mails from Rick that are only intended to draw me into a heated discussion, especially since the purpose of this posting is to shift blame. I will let the facts speak for themselves. Thank you for providing this much-needed site. |

Re: PEST STRIP KILLS... (Currently 0 replies)
Posted At 15:52:01 10/27/2000 My own experience with pest strips is this. 3 years ago I hung up a pest strip in my herp room to get rid of flys. It got rid of the flys, but it also killed 12 hatchling gold dust day geckos that were in the same room. 4 years ago a person who had a female snow corn of mine for a breeding loan, decided to treat her with a no pest strip right after she laid her eggs. (his reasoning was that he "thought" he might have some mites on other snakes, and he didn't want to send my snake back to me with any unpleasant surprises.) She was already weakend from laying eggs. within 24 hours she started having convulsions and died. Those are my personal experiences with no pest strips. Mark |

Re: PEST STRIP KILLS... (Currently 0 replies)
Posted At 04:52:13 11/04/2000 I dont know rick or nigel but speak from my own experiance. i have been breeding colubrids and boid for 23 years now and i still use pest strip with no adverse affect. you do how ever, need to have ample ventilation to prevent fuming and must contain it in something (i use 1/4 inch wire mesh and make a little cage to put it in)to keep the animal from having direct contact with it. it can be safely used if you know what you are doing. as far as rick and nigel go, i hope you guys work things out and get back to what its all about, having fun and preserving nature through captive propagation. Posted At 07:45:48 12/03/2000 Now I am lost. Ithought the webaster was Rich. Who is Emilyu. Rick Like the forum rules say...Have the balls to post your e-mail. And Ken same to you. Unless of course you are rick posting under a different name like Ken. If you people have something to say. Get the balls to post your e-mail addy. No e-mail addy tells me you are probably lying and are grasping for things like Ken and Rick |

Re: PEST STRIP KILLS... (Currently 0 replies)
Posted At 11:58:29 12/06/2000 Ritchie, Please refer to Rich's (webmaster) post under the Rick Crew thread started by Chen Lai. The derogatory pposts which were made under both my name and Rick's were posted by a gentleman by the name of Allen. Apparently, he thought it amusing to "stir the pot" by posting inflammatory commments under other people's names. He also had the audacity to email the webmaster and complain how awful the bickering(that he incited and participated in) was. There is a list of Allen's posts in the above mentioned thread. While he might have found it amusing, neither myself, Rick, Nigel, nor the webmaster did. |

Re: PEST STRIP KILLS...
7018.html Posted At 20:43:30 08/08/2001 I have found that pest strips sometimes result in negative neurological signs and occasional death in rattlesnakes, hognose snakes, and some viper species. I have had no trouble with adult pythons and colubrids. |

8602.html Posted At 02:13:25 09/03/2001 Nigel, you spent $40,000 on snakes and you don't even know how to sex them? WOW! What's that saying, more dollars then sense. ???? |

Re: PEST STRIP KILLS...
9179.html Posted At 18:38:52 09/18/2001 Jon... When I purchased my house I had no idea how to appraise it or inspect it. So...I hired a professional house appraiser and a professional house inspector. How many people have a knowledge of internal medicine? Not many...yet many people rely on the knowledge and experience of their doctor. When I purchased these snakes I believed that I had engaged the services of a professional snake breeder. As I found out, this was not the case. It's interesting to see people's reactions to this and other posts on this forum; instead of understanding that postings have been made for the benefit of others, many people choose to ridicule the people who have been taken advantage of. |
