Marty Groark, which goes under mixmastermarty, big M herps, [ swk ]. and probably many other names and e-mails, he lives at 8017 meadowbrook lane, Orland Park, IL 60462. I sent him an adult male bearded dragon, and a gold sub-adult female bearded dragon. in a trade for an adult male columbian boa, well he got the dragons, and kept putting me off, saying that his mother was supposto ship the snake, but forgot to, and that he had school, and work so he couldn't do it right now. and now the e-mails have just stopped, i e-mail him a lot and get nothing in return, and then i find him trying to sell the bearded dragons on another classified site. Is there anything i can do legaly or anything? Or am i just out of luck? |

Posted At 15:51:13 01/21/2001 I would say that's mail fraud, using the USmail to steal. I would persue this and get what's coming to you. I think all the people who sell animals and ship as a buisness shoud be concerned about this. I've only bought one snake that I had shipped to me and it worked out great. I'm very concerned about doing it again and if I did and I didn't receive my goods I would do sonething about it. Good luck to you. |

Posted At 21:45:36 01/21/2001 i also am dealing with him right now b/c i sent him $80 for 3 leopard geckos, never got them, and now they are also for sale for $100 on the web, and now he says he'll send back the money, but after 2 and a half weeks, still hasnt. I was told by the police that this is grounds for mailfraud as well as federal charges b/c its interstate, and also larsony, which is theft under $10,000. he also keeps putting me off with excuses about school, etc. and as far as im concerned, he shouldnt be selling animals if he's too busy to keep his end of the deal. so if i were you i'd also talk to the police in your area and see what they can do for you. |

Posted At 18:08:25 01/25/2001 well, i finally got him to ship the snake, after threatening him with the postal inspector. And after 4 days in transit, with no heat pack mind you, i finally got the snake, only to find that it has a monsterous dent in his back, like someone had dropped a dumbell on him. and he said that this was a perfect animal. I urge anyone who is considering doing business with this guy to think twice, this poor snake was an ice cube, 4 days in the mail is bad enough, but without heat packs or anything, now that's just cruel. |

Posted At 14:46:21 02/24/2001 hey thought i would clear this up because i have been experiencing a few problems from it. First of all andrea, i told you i was really busy with finals, so you told me to send you the animals or your money, i was not sure when the soonest i could get your geckos out to you would be so I sent you back the money in hopes that we could do buisness some other time. this was my fault as i didn't have my priorities straight and school was taking more time than i thought. i apologize. as for snakesnstuff, i sent that snake with heat packs, 2 40 hour heat packs to be exact. i also sent it overnight and it didn't make it there. It actually took 3 days due to the weight of a 6 ft. colombian boa. I have the receipt to prove it, i also have a copy of the form i filled out in order to be reimbursed for my overnight payment when the snake obviously did not get there overnight. as for the dent, it is small about the size of a nickel or quarter and i never said that the snake was flawless anyways. i am an honest buisness man and have many references to prove it. if you would like some of my references than please just ask. thanks marty groark big m herps |
