Jeff Gee is in the opinion of many, the founder of the Hypo Boa trait and a pioneer when it came to tortoise breeding. I have heard he suffered some legal problems and is no longer in the reptile hobby. His animals where always of the highest quality and he was a man of his word. He is truely missed in this hobby.

Jeff Gee is definitely one of the major contributors to herpetoculture as we know it today. Although its been several years since I talked to Jeff or Kim, a mutual friend of ours talks to them with some frequency.

To expound on what Don had said regarding Jeff's departure from the hobby/business... it was relayed to me that one of Jeff's Fila Brasileiros maimed a Galapagos tortoise that was on loan to Jeff from a zoo, and that reimbursement had to be made.

One other contributing factor that was mentioned was the ever-increasing hassle of exporting animals, which was a large portion of Jeff's business.

The last I heard, he is now involved with the construction industry. I'd wish him success in his endeavour, but Jeff is the type of person to whom success comes naturally. Not enough good things can be said about him.

I don't know who starts all these rumors, but, heres the scoop. Jeff, Kim and Cody are all alive and well in Portal, Az. The Captive Bred Wildlife Foundation and or the Gees are not having LEGAL OR FINANCIAL PROBLEMS! The Gee's are still very strong in the field of reptiles. Jeff has alot of overseas clients and assists in reptile research in Az. I recieved 4, F3 Hypos he produced this year. He is a man of his word and only sells top notch reptiles. He can be reached at (520) 558-2458 or e mailed at [email protected] The Captive Bred Wildlife Foundation will soon have a new site at: www.cbwf.com .... If you are considering anything the Gees are offering, you are in good hands. I have knowen them for years. As for all who believe the Gees have left the business, you would not know it by their monthly (Reptile Availability List)... Call up and get on the list!
