Most of you probably remember the thread where a person named John Hughs claimed he was an enforcement officer with the Texas Department of Wildlife. He went after Patrick Hughet and claimed he was going to get him on violations for keeping hots, etc. I knew something was fishy with this. I was recently in contact with L. David Sinclair, the Chief of Enforcement of the Texas Department of Wildlife. He searched his files and could find NO EMPLOYEE with the name John Hughs or any of its alternate spellings. He assured me his agents do not do investigations in the manner Hughs was attempting to on this forum. He asked that I forward any information I obtain about who this imposter really is to him. I do not know what the applicable laws in Texas are, but here in Ohio, this imposter could very well find himself charged with impersonating a police officer if he were to commit such an offense here. |

9202.html Posted At 11:17:48 09/19/2001 I agree 100% on the fact that what happened was wrong. But honestly, don't you think that bringing this back up again is very foolish ? That thread was posted a few weeks back and bringing this back up is just causing more havock. Patrick had said that he was in contact with John Hughs and it really should have ended there. But thanks for the warning and this was just my personal opinion and .02 in the matter. With every thing that is going on in the world right now, can't we all just get along ???? |

9243.html Posted At 08:06:58 09/20/2001 Hey Pat, Good work, that is the problem I have with forums. You can claim to be ? Tell a story about someone and the old saying, A lie will go around the world in the time it takes the truth to put its shoes on. |

9278.html Posted At 23:50:15 09/20/2001 Hi Sarah. I respect your opinion but I don't think its foolish at all. Some joker is going around pretending to be a wildlife enforcement officer and threatening herpers. I think warning everyone here is prudent, not foolish. |

9332.html Posted At 16:10:33 09/23/2001 I checked the TPW website and nothing about a John Hughes. I emailed themand told the whole story and asked if there was such a person. I also asked that if there is not one please let me know what to do about the FRAUD. I have noticed over and over again that the people or persons who said they where a Game Warden inthe past and the people wanting this issue dropped are using a hotmail adress. Seems like they want do not want people to know there real adress. I also think it is the same person. I have all the email adress saved and Iam going to pass them on to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. We will see in the end. I am not giving my email adress because I do not want this sick individual to email me and harass me like he has harassed people on this forum. Once I get the email returned from the Texas Parks Dept and see if he is legit I will post. If he is not legit and find out who to contact about this issue. I will turn over the whole story and his email adress so they can look it up and get him taken care of. However they handle it. I just know that if you pose as a Game Warden they will not take it lightly. Texas Game Wardens have higher ranks than police officers and other law enforcement agentcies. The only law enforcement officer higher than a Game Warden is a Texas Ranger. Anyways, TIME WILL TELL!!!!!!!! Thanks, Blair |
