I purchased what was supposed to be a 100% het for albino male. When the package arrived, I opened it immediately. I found the snake in a bag, which was good. It was placed in a box with only a single piece of bubble wrap on the bottom of the box. NOTHING on the sides, top.. no packing material to keep the snake from being jarred around.. NOTHING. The snake checked out fine at the herp vet... only thing was the vet sexed it and it was a FEMALE. In disbelief, I probed it myself, then popped it... again.. FEMALE. I have written Eddie numerous times with no reply. All I am asking for is for a partial refund because he sent me something I didn't order. Am I wrong here? Anyone else dealt with him? The snake is gorgeous, but I don't know if its a het or just a nice looking colombian. He called me a liar on the phone saying that he AND Bob Clark personally popped it at Bob's facility. I somehow doubt Bob would EVER mistake a female for a male. Granted, things happen, but one look at her tail and you KNOW its a female. Needless to say, I am trying to get in touch with Eddie Arroyo at Dream Constrictors. Please think twice before dealing with him... he shipped the snake VERY poorly, plus sent the wrong snake. 9299.html Posted At 00:17:56 09/22/2001 In my opinion if the snake was "improperly sexed" he should take it back and give you a refund. I do not think you should get to keep the snake and get a partial refund. Sometimes even experts can make mistakes both you, the vet, the seller and yes even Bob Clark could make an error, no one is perfect, except god. Also note I have probed one side of a snake and it came up male and the other side female. Also "popping" is not always a reliable source of sex determination, "probing" , is the best method. Sometimes the snakes musculature has already developed enough to thwart any popping method and also can cause damage to the snake as well. Once again I think if the snake was sold improperly sexed, the seller should give a full refund and also get the snake back, I do not think you should get to keep the snake and get a "partial refund" for an error that could happen to any one even an "expert". |

9301.html Posted At 01:07:28 09/22/2001 Before we judge let hear the facts first. The snake was popped in front of me an I even Pop it to show my wife how to diferenciate a male from a female. As we all know only a male Boa will have a hemipenis. An I saw it an Bob Clark saw it , an told me when I bought it at his facility that it was a male. The response factor , as much of you here I work for a living so when I check my e-mail's its late at night depending on the hours I work for the day. About it being a het he bought the snake with no paper work. So if he dindt trust me he should have never bought it with out the paper work. I asure you all is a male an is 100% het for Albino. I sold it because it was the only Boa I had an Im not much in to Boas so I gave him a good deal on it. I asure you theres no Error it is a male. What he doesnt tell you is that the first day that the snake was deliver I contacted him by phone an said that if he wasnt happy I would return his money , but he said that he love the snake an that every thing was alright. I dint call him a liar he told me that it was a female when I know for a fact that its not. So his the one that called me a liar. An I responded profesionaly an in good manner to the situation. What can I say you can win them all. I do this for the pleasure of it not for the money. He wants a refund three days later , for all I know he could have gone to any local pet shop an found a look alike snake to send me back. I dont know about you guys but this dont smell right. All I can say is how many of you will refund money or take an animal back after three days of purchase with a reason that you know for a fact its not legitament. An he E-mailed me saying that he didnt post nothing about me an that every thing was cool but that to his knowledge the snake was a female. Well he will find out that its a male on breeding season I guess. For those of you that have delt with me know that Im fair an honest. For those who havent , all I can say is that not all you hear is true , but its your choice again you can win them all. I just wish I get the chance to serve you. Thanks for your time. 9305.html Posted At 07:26:48 09/22/2001 I bought a normal baby Burm from Eddie a few months ago and it was packed fine and arrived very healthy. I had no problem dealing with Eddie and I doubt very much if Bob Clark would screw up. He's probably sexed several thousand snakes over the years and I think he just might have the qualifications to do so. If the snake arrived healthy then obviously it was packed sufficiently. I'd work with Eddie any time and don't think he deserves a bad rap here. |

9321.html Posted At 18:59:06 09/22/2001 Eddie, I posted this long before you emailed me back... I realize you work late hours now, I apologize and should have been patient enough to wait. I do think she is a beautiful snake, that is why I said I would keep her. I emailed you last night and told you that I didn't want ANY money from you. I also TRIED to explain that mistakes happen, especially when popping a snake of this size... it is almost three feet. I am not calling you dishonost, in fact, I'd do business with you again any day and at anytime. I was posting this as an INQUIRY as to what I should do. I was NOT trying to put a bad rap towards your name. For all that may read this, Eddie is a good guy. Bottom line is he thinks its a male and I think it is a female. Eddie is correct, we will see at breeding season. I have already told him that I would GIVE (free of charge) him a hatchling from the litter. I still consider Eddie a friend, sometimes friends have disagreements. Eddie, please accept my apology. I look forward to doing business with you in the future. Keith Rockafellow |

I am amazed.....
9350.html Posted At 08:15:41 09/24/2001 I actually found a thread that started bad, turned out good, and neither Jerry Tressler or Billie Garr stuck their worthless 2 cents in! Miracles really DO happen! |

So your post has nothing to do with the dealings that went on here, UHMMM! Maybe I'm not the only one with a worthless 2 cents. Sorry I know this my post has nothing to do with the dealings that went on but Frank brought my name up so I thought I would respond. Sorry again to everyone even you Frank. Billie. |

9639.html Posted At 19:42:53 10/01/2001 Popping 3' boas????? Anyone else doing this out there??? That's my only concern here. It seems things are going to work out for you two which is good. Not probing the animal myself I can give no answer to sex, just a note of caution. Not everyone with a Vet clinic knows how to properly sex a snake, so as far as mistakes go, It can/will happen to anyone-Best of luck to both of you! Glad you could remain friends-Take Care. |
