This subspecies of Mole Kingsnake has only been officially described to science since 1987(Price). The juvenile pictured was hatched from a clutch of eggs that came from a wild-caught specimen from De Soto county in central Florida......a friend of mine was driving home from work, and captured the female crossing a dirt road, and soon discovered that she was gravid !!....when the young later hatched, I was sold a pair of these back in 1998.
