This is the first time in all the years I have been keeping these animals that I think I have buyers remorse. I had always avoided the banana/CG gene because of the color change as adults and the spots but finally broke down and bought a pastel banana. Here is the animal.:ack2:
Has anyone else ever regretted a purchase?

I don't see a reason for buyer's remorse. I think it's a nice looking snake.

Its a nice snake Steve. I bet Harald dont like black spots on the banana's either! Only thing i really regret is not buying multi gene girls in the beginning and having nice fat 4+ year old girls right now. Oh well.

I don't like the black dots, either....
I've wondered if one can get the dots not to show up through the addition of more morphs.

The dots do kinda make them look like they've got bugs on them.

I've regretted a snake or two. Mostly 'poss hets'....after years of growing them I had to think to myself "Why didn't I just get a full het or a visual?"

Still very nice for a banana and the babies are amazing lookers!

I have a male banana and I think the dots is what makes that morph so beautiful, it's just a nice additive to the great colors those snakes have to begin with

I've always craved a banana, but admit the spots make me think mites. Still a good looking, healthy snake :)

I have a few customers on either side. They like them or they dont, but either way they gotta have one. Me personally, i could do with out the black specs. Although i do think we will find something, or gene to work with making those specs the focus point. Still a favorite in my collection.

Between the loss of the purple and the increase in spots, they are not one of the ones that get better with age IMO.

I do wish they would keep those purples a little.

Should have went with a candino. Those keep nice purples as adults and don't have any spots.

Sell the banana and get one.

Supers should eliminate a lot of the black flecks.

The black flecks have grown on me. If you do not like them, get a nice Lavender Albino.

Bananas (the fruit) also gain spots as they age, ya know. ;) Lovely snake.

Have there been many supers produced? I haven't really seen them pop up anywhere..

Supers are being held back because they produce normal sex ratios and any male from a female is a female maker so they are very valuable to make female banana combos.

Not that I'm looking for them for sale. I'm looking to see what they're like. I don't see pics of them. I don't see pics of when they're older, if they get the ugly black spots or not. I'd like to know what they look like and how they age in regards to their looks.

Yes. I purchased 2 proven normal females. I could have gotten a super Mojave 600 grams for the money I paid for them. Big mistake

This is an adult so basically what they will look like.
No purple left. Turned a sort of brownish. Basically different shades of yellow with a bunch of black spots.

SPJ, That's a super banana?

SPJ

No. That's just a pastel banana.
Supers don't have the spots or the sex linked issues.

I love those spots, but if you don't like them, look at the ultramels or lavender albinos.

It's funny you post this, the one and ONLY snake I've ever been unsure about that I own, is my pastel banana lol. I really dislike the black specks. (Although contrary to you, I think the yellow/brown adult color is beautiful, reminds me of caramel. He's the only snake I own that I've ever considered selling, but I can never do it because he's literally a sweetheart.

Plus, lots of other snakes have millions of black specks. Boas, for instance. You just notice it more on the bananas because of their lighter body color and they don't have as many as the boas.
