I bred these two:
male hypo tangerine

and female amelanistic
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a72/Tang88/Leos015.jpg

and i figured their babies would turn out hypo tangerines het for amelanism, but they look normal:
hatched July 8

his clutchmate- hatched july 7:

their brother from a difefrent clutch- hatched July 22:

i thought thery would have more of their dad's orange, also, what percent hets are they for amelanism?
I'm also excited bc i have eggs in the incubator from this pairing :

Well, first off, that last female is way to skinny. Her carrot tail is broken up, so I'm not sure if she's a true 75% carrot tail.

You may want to check up on the genetics on those two. I know the albino gene is recessive. I'm not sure about tangs.

i know she looks skinny, im trying to get her weight up. she just laid 2 clutches in a row (the first was killed when one of my sister's friends unplugged my incubator arrrrgggg...) I'm gunna get some pinkies for her at work 2morrow

she looks alot skinnier in the pic, also, bc of the way her spine is curled up like that. i think she still counts as a 75% carrot tail though even though its alittle broken up at the end, im gunna get some pinkies for her to munch on 2morrow at work hopefully that will fatten her up (i work at the Reptile House at the Bonx Zoo)

In theory with a Super Hypo to Albino all tang to normal appearing babies will be het for albino.

That last female, Im not sure, a CT is described as carroting along the tail to the point of no color breaks and her color breaks up within 10-15% of the carrot, then breaks again at about 30% and again with lots of spotting at 50% then a little carrot after that. That does not to ME mean a 75% carrottail.

Also her tail is kinked, you need to up her calcium if it was caused by egg laying since her calcium reserves have been taken from her tail area to fortify the eggs and kinked the end of her tail.

Bulk her back up and get mroe calcium into her!

What gutload are you using, none of my females get that skinny even laying all season.

i was worried when i got her bc her tail was kinked i thought mayb it would be genetic. i called albey and asked, he said that lots of geckos he gets come with kinked tails but theyre not a big deal. i gutload my crix with lettuce, carrots, cabbage, apple, grape, and melon mostly

I have a couple that I shut their tail in the hide box by mistake so their kink I know was my fault not genetic. I also have one that his tail kinked up one day, then I upped his caclium and vits and it was straight again within 3 days. So his was for sure a lack of enough vitamisn and or calcium.

I feel like if the tail is not kinked at birth it is most likely not genetic but care issues. I also have a few females that thier tail kinked up after laying 5 up 6 cluthces so I have way upped their calcium and added liquid calcium drops to help them get what they need.

Also on the gutload, get a good 10 grain cereal, or total brand cereal. Those veges and fruits are not good for anything much other than a water source.

I used to use Total brand cereal, put it in a blender and add 1//4 cup mieral O, a few dashses of reptivite and a little herptivite.

I have since switched to Codys gutload at progeckos.com and it is cheaper than the mix I was making and all of my leos got fatter faster than normal.

Have to agree with wendy. My female also does not get that skinny after laying...she does lose a bit of weight, but not so much. i too gutload my buggies with a big mixture of different cereals...from health nut grainy ones, to total to cheerios in the mix. Stick em in a food processor along with some oatmeal and have myself some healthy gutload. I also use fruits and veggies...
in addition to the mix...but the best ones to use are Collard greens, broccoli leaves and any type of dark leafy greens. If I am not mistaken, the next best is carrots.

All the normal looking animals from the amel and Tang pairing are het for albino. If you breed those hets you'll probably end up with some nice Tangerine Albinos. Oh and get that last female some pinks with their rear end dipped in some high quality calcium and supplement.

thanks ill get on that. if i bred them back to the mother i would just get albinos correct? (since all the offspring re male) i cant breed them to each other, any other suggestions?

No you would get 50% het and 50% albino when breeding back to the mother.

This may help you some:
