i was checking on the trio today and i noticed that siachen's, my male, tail looks like the tip has died. it's all skinny and dried up looking. the last time i saw him was 2 days ago and last night when i fed them i didn't check up on him(my bf has gout and it's flaring up bad so i'm tired from helping him walk and get up and taking care of the baby and everybody else). should i have the tip amputated? will he lose the whole tail? he's still eating well. he was 100% normal when i last saw him. had a perfect shed about 1 week ago. didn't find any remains or anything stuck to him. i have betadine solution, should i be putting that on now? thanks for your help.

It could be from residual skin form an incomplete shed, but check your temperatures... sounds more like like a thermal burn to me. Keep a close eye on it in the event it becomes dry gangrene and spreads, and if this happens the tip of the tail should be amputated. Otherwise, it will eventually just fall off.
