Bussiness at herp meets?

Ok, I am trying to organize a herping group and I wanted to know about what those of you who go to professional clubs think is good about their organization. Do people do bussiness (ie sell products, including animals) at herpetological sociaety meetings? How do you feel about this? I am concerned that the local pet stores here do not like the idea of being left out of the sales and that bad things are ahead if I do not deal with this issue. I want to stay on good terms with the stores and people outside of the herp society, and I personally think it is not the best idea to sell snakes and feeders on our online message board. I am going to make a list of individuals who offer products/services to post on the website, but i don't think i am happy with people posting messages just to sell their products. We have helped adopt some animals to good homes by posting messages, but I think there are really better ways of selling one's animals.

Any opinions or arguements here? I would like some input. thank you!
