In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I placed an order on 2/11 for a new 36 inch slant front cage as well as a rack so I can stack the ones I already own and this new one. They charged my credit card on 2/12 for the order.
I had left 3 messages since the purchase asking when I could expect delivery. They never returned my call (they called back fast to make the sale though). Today, 3/11, I recieved the cage, no rack, just the cage. I opened the box and was ready to string these guys up. The cage has the basking vent on the opposite then the others I have ordered when Bush Herp owned Neodesha. OK. Pissed me off but that is nothing compared to the quality of the cage. The vents have rough edges exposed inside the cage and it looks like someone cut them out with a knife! The basking vent screen isn't even secure. It has cracked and missing caulking around the insert! The glass door will not slide open no matter how hard I try to force it. It is as if it is glued in place. The holes where the screws go are there but there are no screws! Even if I got the door open, any snake could just pop the basking vent out due to the piss poor caulking job. I called them immediately after inspecting this piece of crap but their mailbox is full and cannot take anymore messages. Gee, I wonder why. How many other people got crap from them.
Stay away from Neodesha cages. I spent almost $500, got half my order (which is unuseable anyway) and cannot even leave a message to explain how unsatisfied I am with their products.
I am leaving a complaint via their sale inquiry email address on their website. I am so pissed right now.

Steve, I'm sorry to hear that.

I've heard only good things from them while under new ownership. And you know where I come from when I say this, I'm affiliated with Animal Plastics and have worked with other cage companies as well. I do hope they make things right for you.

I am really hoping this was just an honest mistake. The box it came in still has the old Kansas address. I'm hoping they sent an older one not realizing what shape it was in inside the box.
They are however almost impossible to get a hold of.

I got the glass to slide. There was glue or calking in the track which basically held the glass in place. I removed it and now the glass slides.

Im surprised about that. I ordered from them in the past and the cages were great as with communication. I bet this is just an honest mistake and they will take care of you.

Steve, I also had a problem with my last order from Neodesha. One of the cages I received was not the one I ordered and the second cage did not have the litter dam. I needed more cages this past week so I went with Visions instead.

I am the new owner of Neodesha

Hello,
I am the new owner of Neodesha cages. I apologize to Steve for what has occured. We have been in contact and everything has been taken care of. I would also like to explain as to what is going on. The past week we have been having problems with the phones. We have been trying to forward them to the shop and have been having continuous problems. We are new to the cage business. When we bought the company we where not aware of the amount of work that goes into building these cages. Neodesha plastics has been building these cages for 30 years and have perfected the art of doing it. We are trying our best to learn and produce the best cage out there. We want all of our customers to be satisfied and we are willing to do what ever it takes. We have been having trouble predicting how long an order will take because we are still learning the ropes. Neodesha has so many products to produce and has so little time to meet the market demand. Please have patience with us and hopefully with some time we will be able to produce faster and better. As of now out of the several hundred cages that we have built we have had very few complaints. We would like to have none if possable. Please understand that we are doing our best. I myself am a keeper and have been using neos for 17 years. I think they are the best thing out and I want to keep that up. I completely apologize to Steve and anybody that may not be happy and I will do anything in my power to make it right.

Regards,

Neodesha Cages LLC,

website

I found your website through a google search and in the first paragraph it says that the cages are made by the "same people who have been making them for decades". Is this an old link or do you use the same site. This was the first link that comes up. If so, maybe you should re-word the front page you being the new owners. I would think the same people would not have an adjustment period to the actual building of the cages. No offense intended. Just curious. They are beautiful cages.

I have spoken with Jeremy. The person who built my cage was new and not the same person who usually builds them. Jeremy has told me he will personally build a new one and send it out to me. My rack is just about finished and should be ready to go in a week or so. He has assured me that it was an honest mistake and I believe him. I look forward to the replacement cage and hope to be able to make many more purchases in the future.

Steve, I had the same problems with my new cages.

I'm not fond of the one-piece glass design. I much prefer the two-piece glass design of the 4' on up cages. Much easier to clean and deal with. Plus half the glass pieces don't quite fit on the 3' cages. Many of them were cut oversized. :(

A couple tips: Wax the edges of the glass before putting it back in the cage. I have to keep the glass waxed, or else the cage front "freezes" in place.

Also, before using your cage, check it for glass shards!! In my last two cages I pulled out of the boxes, there were very small glass shards-almost like dust-all over inside the cage that took a very long time to clean out. Could raise heck for a snake breathing that stuff in.

My racks finally got here a couple weeks ago. They aren't really the right color (I thought they were going to be the tan ones like my old ones were), and the end caps are missing as well as 2 bolt/washers/nut sets. I just went down to the hardware store for the bolt sets, as for the end caps... just gotta keep an eye out for spiders making nests in the open bars I guess.

I did get a bit angry at how long it was taking, as I had ordered my cages back in October of last year and got all the cages later in the year, but no racks to put them on. Jeremy was very helpful when I asked him what was going on-and did reply back to the majority of e-mails/phone calls I sent off to them.

They are honest people, I think the problem lies between the amount of orders they have to fill, and cages being made in a hurry-when one is in a hurry, that is when mistakes are often made.

I have a couple questions regarding the new Neodesha company... Where are you located? and also how many people do you have building the enclosures? The reason I ask about how many people are building the enclosures is, when I visited the original facility in Neodesha KS they had 6 employees working and it was a weekend and they were in a slowdown mode. Perhaps you need to increase your employee base to meet with demand. Better to lose a little on the profit margin and keep customers rather then running them off with poor craftsmanship.

I'm still waiting... 9 months later...

I called Neodesha Cages last June and spoke with Jeremy's father, who answers the phone a lot. I needed to get a replacement glass or plexi for a 36" slant-front cage. Dad said that because I'm a rescue, he'd send me one at no charge. Two months later, I called back, left a message. No return. Several weeks (months?) later, I called again, spoke to the same guy. He apologized profusely. I offered to BUY the glass/plexi, but he insisted that no, they would send it right out. He got my address, etc. This was three months ago... still no front. So, I have a 36" slant-front cage that I can't use, because I can't get the glass for it. Local glass companies want $100 for it, as it's "special order". Right....

Anyway, if anyone can get hold of them, please remind them that I'm getting really tired standing in front of this cage 24 hours a day watching to make sure the snake doesn't slither out of it... <grin>

One of the cages I received was not the one I ordered and the second cage did not have the litter dam.
Hopefully my replacement one will be correct.

In my last two cages I pulled out of the boxes, there were very small glass shards-almost like dust-all over inside the cage
I will make sure to vaccum and thouroughly clean the new cage when it arrives. The last thing I want is to have something happen to the animal placed in it.

the end caps are missing as well as 2 bolt/washers/nut sets.
I didn't get the screws since they ran out. Granted I could probably find them at a hardaware store but it is my felling that you should not have to hunt them down since you paid for a certain item and it should be delivered (all pieces intact)

I'm still waiting... 9 months later...
That is just a ridiculous amount of time to wait for something.

Well, Jeremy left a message. I'm going to have to return the call and find out what is going on. Hopefully, the call was to inform me that all is well and my replacement cage is going out on Monday and my rack is almost ready to ship.
I think they are honest but are understaffed and still learning the ropes. Hopefully with more staff and more experiences, everything will turn around.

This is really concerning. My local herp society was planning on placing an order for about $1500 worth of caging for our educational displays. I think we will be reconsidering it at this time.

Yes we are understaffed , and we are looking at bring on new people. What people need to understand is that some of these cages have over 10 hrs in man power. We did not realize this when we made the company purchase. This business is very different then selling animals where you can ship right after the order is taken. We wish we could do that. We want to keep everybody happy. The problem is to that there was a pent up demand from the closing of the company and that is why we are still finishing orders from opening time. We had one gentleman buy 100 of our 48 nesters which are the hardest cage to build ,in july. We just got his order delivered. There unfortunatly is only so much time in a day. We are doing our best. I myself have been in the industry for 20 years and take pride in my animals and animals I have sold. I take the same pride in Neodesha and I am trying my hardest to make it happen. Unfortunatly I can't make everybody happy , and that is just life. No one has to worry that if they place an order , that they won't receive thier cage. We are looking at staffing options ,but have to be very selective due to the detail involved in building the cages. Like I said in my last postwe are very new at this and ity takes time to learn. As of now 99.9% of the customers who have received cages have been happy and many others have ordered again. Please give us the opportunity to get a hang of this, and be patient. It is very easy to sit at the other end of the computer and tare us apart , but put yourselves in our shoes and imagine how overwelmed we are. As far as what it says on the website Neodesha plastics is making our parts for us and we are fabrictaing them here in Florida. Anybody is more then welcome to make an appointment with us and we will be happy to show you the shop and what is going on.

Jeremy,,,

I think it is great you are trying to tell your side of the story,, and i can very much understand how things can get behind,, i visited the Neodesha plastics plant up in Neodesha when i was in town a few years ago to go to a dealer meeting at Cobalt Boats. They have a really really big place,, and lots of people,,, I guess my concern is very simple,, i was looking to place an order for approx 14 or so slant front 36 inchers,, and the racks of course to go along with them,, but i hope you can understand from my side i am now a little but aprehensive to do so,,, i would need them in a timely manner,, and i would need the racks at the same time as the cages,, ( not at a later date) As i have animals already earmarked for them,, i would not have weeks and months to wait on them to arrive,, i own some of the older neos,, and have enjoyed them,, but i guess my point to all of this is really simple when will you be "caught up" so an order would ship the same week or so it was placed,,, ? and when could you ship a complete order with all the endcaps, bolts and screws etc...? i mean why should i pay for the end caps and screws and bolts and not recieve them..?
any input would be greatly appreciated,,,

I certainly can understand the problems you are undergoing as a new startup is a difficult venture with a lot of growing pains. However, there is this general opinion that things are being picked up from where they left off when in reality this is like a new company. I believe there is more justification on delays. However, shipping units that with missing parts, improper construction, etc. is not acceptable even for a startup. Also, delays in response such as with Bonnie. As a business owner for 8 years, I am aware of the long hours and learning curve. However, the only solution is to communicate with your customers before things get problematic. If it takes 8 weeks to fullfil an order, be realistic and quote 10. It will be well worth it! Plus shipping early is never a problem. Just a few suggestions.

I would like to retract the statement that we can't make everybody happy. I am just frustrated and I really want people to be happy. We will do our best to make any customer happy. We apprecaite everybodies business and every customer is important to us. Doesnt matter if you spend 25.00 or 25,000 each and every customers is equally important. I apologize for that statement. I am just as frustrated as our customers and we will do everything in our power to offer the best in customer service.

So far I've had 15 cages of various shapes & sizes from Neodesha since Jeremy took over, and I'm pleased with every single one of them. All of them are great quality & construction, and I have another 20 on order.

To save on shipping, we went and picked our cages up directly from the workshop and we saw the cages being built there. Jeremy even let me have a go at building one myself, and it really is not that easy - Don't worry, I bought the one that I built (after Jeremy fixed my mistakes, heh) so it's not floating out there in one of your homes :D

I know that there has been a HUGE influx of customers since Neodesha started back up, and nobody could've anticipated the demand. With the cages being out of production for over 18 months, I knew that there was a build-up of customers growing out there, which is why I told Jeremy there was no rush on the remaining cages I ordered. I have the ones that were needed urgently, and they are now all in use and doing great.

Just be thankful this isn't the car industry. Otherwise, you'd all be paying twice as much and be put on a 5 year waiting list (can anybody say TVR?)

I HAD A GOOD CONVERSATION WITH JEREMY,,,

I had a good conversation with Jeremy after i made my post above,, and he was very happy to explain what is going on with them and why.. I feel he and his crew are really trying to do the best they can in a situation that has just overwhelmed them,, They expected lots of orders when they first started building the Neos,, But i think they just underestimated the time and labor it takes to build a first rate cage,, Jeremy seemed very commited to making people happy and to building a first class caging system..
Just to clarify for others out there,, as it was also one thing i inquired about, the actual plastic parts are still molded in Neodesha Kansas,, and assembled in fla,, So they are also at the mercy of the time it takes to get the parts molded,, and the shipping time and delays to get the actual parts to them for final assembly.. Jeremy was very happy to address my concerns,, and i do believe they are really trying hard to do the right thing by everyone who spends there hard earned money with them,,,
After my Talk with Jeremy he put all my concerns to rest, and i will be ordering form them in the not to distant future,, I hope if you have any concerns you will pick up the phone and Call and talk to Jeremy,, as he seems like a first rate guy trying to do the best they can,,,,
As we all know in life nothing is perfect,, but they are striving for it everyday,,,, ( as we all are).....
Just my 2 cents,, but i hope this helps others out there to put some of the concerns i and others have to rest,, it sure will make me rest easier when i place my order in the not to distant future,,,
