In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

pet store crickets v.s. bait store crickets

I recently started ordering my crickets from a place in Florida called the Lazy H Bait Shop, and they're crickets definitely seem healthier, more active and cleaner than what I was getting at a couple of the local pet shops.

And my beardies seem to be more interested in eating them, but I upgraded my UV about the same time I switched to Lazy H, so it may be due to that.

ok thank you. I think i might get some - they said the dealer sells to pet shops too - and gut load them - i have 5 subadult to adult dragons and they are eating me out of house and home.

No, I've got five babies, and they're going through about 1000 1/2" crix a week. He charges $14 per thousand shipped. So, right now I'm spending about $50/month. I have him ship every other week because thats one less trip to the post office to pick them up. Mike ships USPS priority mail, which is fine, except I'm never here when the mailman comes by.

The concern I've heard about bait shop bugs is that you're not always sure where they came from. When you order from a reliable online source (or reliable petstore) the crickets have been raised specifically as feeders for reptiles and as such should be more hygenic and parasite free. It's really the source that the store gets them from that matters.

I don't know what it is about petstore crickets, but my brother claims that when he got his from the petstore, they died really fast. When he gets them from me, they last forever. I get mine from Reptilefood.com. Been using them for like 7-8 years now.

Thanks everyone! I called Mike at Lazy H today and have 1000 on the way. He seems real nice and concerned about his clients.

Lucky 13 Crickets is in Sarasota and there crickets are $10/1000. Shipping is $5 flat. Doesnt matter how many boxes you order as long as you are in FL. Lucky 13 Crickets uses UPS and the crickets are beautiful. They have all sizes and are willing to accommodate special orders. How can you beat that?

I believe the question in this thread is
pet store crickets v.s. bait store crickets
Can any one tell me the difference?

What do you mean by "They" and "There"?

Yeah, I almost let this go. Figuring that you misunderstood the topic. Then I realized this is the second post of this nature advertising crickets on threads people weren't asking where to buy.

It was enlightening when I looked at the email address that you registered with.
