Good day everyone,
My name is Oren Harel and I speak on behalf of DVM Ronen Levran and Koby Engel who wished to order a shipment of snakes from the United States to Israel.
Eric Crider was chosen as the person with whom to deal, and from references I saw around the web, he seemed like a credible business man.
Eric's guarantee was that the animals will land in Israel within 10 business days- that was at the end of March. He informed us that he has master Cites and that is why he can guarantee the arrival in such a short term.
Eric received the full amount of money, standing at around 60,000 Nis which is the equivalent of 15-20K $ when the full list of animals was handed to him.
Since then, Eric has repeatedly sent false reports- at first, he claimed to have sent salmonella testing swabs of only a few animals rather than all of them, which is why the USDA did not approve the documents.
For roughly 5 weeks, he continued repeating various mistakes(or so he claims)... every week assuring us that he learned from his mistakes until finally, two weeks ago, he said that he just received the Cites permit(which raises the question as to why did they arrive a month and a half after the animals were supposed to already be here- he has Master Cites according to him).
He assured us last week that the USDA finally authorized everything and that it's all ready to go- he has us book a flight and the animals were supposed to land today.
If you would, I would like to quote his email to us, sent to us last week:
"Well all is ready now, just waiting for Broker/Lufthansa ready to 'OK' to ship. All health certs are complete.
Sitting on USDA desk, I will call them and they will stamp and I will pay to have courier driver them say day to broker and fax you copy.
Please see attached copys of all docs"
Yesterday, we received this email:
"Well Friday after noon I got telephone call from USDA veterinary and he has delayed signature of paper work based on the issues states below, it is Monday am here and I am in contact with my local vet at Kulshan veterinary hospital to get this issues resolved as fast as possible to get shipment in the air.
PLEASE be patient as I am very frustrated at this point, so I can resolved the issues at hand and will advice all party's this afternoon as I know more."
Please realize that this very chain of events has been unfolding over the last -10- weeks. Every time a different mistake.
During this whole period, Eric has refused to refund Koby his money
Here are the facts:
1- Eric claimed to have Master Cites and yet only a month and a half after the order was placed he stated to have received said permits.
2- For the last 10 weeks Eric claims to have prepared all the medical paperwork and every week there's another mistake, from which Eric assures us that he learned from it and will do everything properly.
3- Eric guaranteed arrival within 10 business days, it has been over two months since placement of order and the wiring of the entire sum.
4- Eric refused to send the money back. Causing severe losses to all parties-since people have paid an advance on the animals they ordered, and now these moneys have to be returned.
5- The delay assured that three events in which animals were supposed to be sold have already passed, thus hindering the likelihood of returning the investment severely.
6- Eric has promised to return to us on Monday's afternoon- he has not contacted us since, and we cannot reach him by phone.
I would advise against making any sorts of business with him, and I would very much love to see if he can explain why he is repeating the same mistakes for over 10 weeks, why did he send photos of just a few of the animals ordered only two weeks ago when again, he guaranteed everything to happen within 10 business days, and when does he intend to draw the line and refund us because he has broached every single TOS agreed upon by mail.
( I will upload these as soon as I get them to my mailbox).
The reason why I am the one posting is because as you probably know, there aren't many Israeli keepers that use international forums- I speak on their behalf because my English is decent enough to be understood and because I too have placed an order in this shipment, so my money too is in jeopardy.
Oren.
