    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

(Not sure if this is actually the right spot to put this at so i apologize if it's not.)

Alright,not only are their more scammers then legit people,and morons who WAY over price stuff but now they have these stupid Craigslist 'Guardians' who constantly plague the pets section by flagging anyone they don't like,which is basically the majority of ads because apparently they think their the new PETA.

I just recently posted an add on their looking to trade for a used snake rack and already it's been flagged four times within the past two hours. I've read through the rules but i just can't figure out why,other then the fact it's one of those so called 'Guardians' who think it's wrong to keep snakes in tubs. :shrug01: I don't know.

What are you complaints/stories? (Without turning this into an extremely heated thread. )

(I've asked them in the first few times to please explain to me why it was being flagged and if it needed to be edited but no such reply.)
 
It takes about 10-12 people to flag you before your gone, I think.
Maybe you are putting your ad in the pet section and people think it is misclassified because a snake rack is not a pet? But people put stuff like dog crates in there all the time.

I love CL. It is entertaining, and you can find great stuff there sometimes.

Maybe,but then why wouldn't cages and such by flagged? Dunno,i'm just gonna keep posting it since i have yet to get an explanation.

But i do agree,i've found some nice stuff on there and it's fun to watch all the stupid arguments people get into. XD It's just everything else i can't stand. XP

They are seeing all the stuff you are trading that has no connection to pets and flagging you. Why not just try to sell the stuff in the general section? The thing is, once you ad is flagged off a bunch of times people may tend to flag it elsewhere on CL so maybe you should quit while you are ahead.

Also, may I suggest that you post an ad here, it is free.
 
I would bet its the fact that you put the word rats in there. Alot of people think that predators are just a 'cruelty machine', so to speak, regardless of whether they are fed live or f/t. They seem to forget about that fact when it comes to fuzzy things, like kittens that toy with prey. Thats entirely acceptable to them.

Ah,never thought of that. (So far it hasn't been flagged again,so maybe they gave up.)
As far as selling the tablet i had put in the electronics section and even on ebay but no luck what so ever. Same goes for posting on here. If i had the money i'd just buy one out right,but most of my next paycheck is going toward a snake i have on hold. Since i was gonna get rid of that stuff anyway i figured i'd find someone who would interested in trading.

I've noticed that a lot actually. People will put in their ads that the rat specifically not be used as food and that you must provide proof of a loving home,yet the also say they need it gone ASAP. Hate to break it to ya folks but you'll get rid of it a lot faster if you let snake owners have it.

Yes, I do hate Craigslist, but because I can never find anything good in my area.

But my REAL pet peeve is with people who can't spell or punctuate properly.

Wow,really? I only saw the 'add' one? (And it's not that i can't,i just sometimes get to typing too fast. XD )
 
I have had that same experience.... I Owned a rat who had a stroke at 1 month old and i ended up keeping him as a pet instead of snake food. he functioned fine but had a permanent head tilt

Sadly i needed to rehome him so i posted him and all his supplies under the Chico pets section and someone had the nerve to tell me i was breaking the rules cuz i was selling a pet cage in the pet section... i couldn't put it anywhere else cuz the cage also came with a rat.

I did get lucky enough to find someone willing to buy his cage and all supplies for $15 and took the rat as well... she fell in love with him the second she picked him up..... it just took almost 1 month of reposting and being deleted to do so and my ad was always within CL posting rules
 
i got the email of one of the people flagging ads in the pet section..... he always makes the mistake of emailing the person laughing about why he flagged your ad etc.

Yeah,i never under stood the logic of most (not all) craigslist people. XP
But it's good you found him a home. :)

oh yeah... This specific guy is always monitoring the pets section... its ridiculous when they have nothing better to do than make peoples lives difficult... he absolutely loves flagging wanted ads too.

Sometimes people just cant keep certain pets and who's right is it to judge why or why not you can post said animal for rehoming... no one. I can understand flagging if you state you breed on the regular or have a litter of animals you are asking $200 each for but in my case $15 for a small/furry pet setup and pet is not too high of a fee
