    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Ian Curtis - Stolen African House Snakes

Ian just made this post on the KHS Facebook page.....I don't think I'm alone in the immediate "BS" redflags that are popping up.

 
It is apparent that the KHS wants no part of this issue.....all of my posts (which were cordial) about the subject have been deleted and the official statement from the upcoming President is as follows:



 
As it turns out, only a couple posts have been deleted.....not all of them. They were not showing up on my phone for some reason.
 
So, there is a lawyer taking a case for $200 worth of mice and heat lamps? And he is going to notify all parties involved? Sarah, would you please let us know when you receive notification?
I think everyone here would put family before snakes, or mouse lawyers, or checking the forum daily, or the other activities that you're posting on FB. If you truly suffered a loss, I am honestly sorry. You may find people are skeptical, as tragedies often occur this deep into a thread.
 
I'm wondering what "parties" are going to be notified by his alleged lawyer and, if I am one of those parties, how he plans on doing that without my mailing address? lol
 
David, you haven't done anything wrong that I can see. If anything this would come as petty theft and go to small claims court. This guy has pretty much stolen these snakes, or at least is holding them hostage ( if he even still has them...) and changed the agreed upon terms to suit his own delusional idea of whats right and wrong. plain and simple. He is in the wrong in the eyes of normal society.

As to trying to resolve this, It appears he ignored almost all messages from July until November. Then when she asked for her snakes back he didn't respond either. After a week Sarah posted on a forum and then he finally responded.

I think that is quite telling. He didn't try to resolve anything in that time period and admitted he read the messages but he didn't respond. Stating "It had only been a week since the last message"

He didn't correct any earlier messages about the amount of snakes he had of hers. She clearly stated "her snakes" throughout the earlier messages he ignored. Only after she asked for them returned.

When he finally responded he stated you will do what I state and what I want as where to meet and discuss the situation.

Hardly professional. He then goes on to state I heard many bad things about you like he has a ace in his pocket. The bad things? She took light bulbs out of a ex boyfriend's house? Are you kidding me?


Hardly a person to confront a situation head on. Even if this is a misunderstanding over a "breeding loan", this wasn't handled well at all.

So what's a fact here by what has been presented.

Sarah contacted him to ask how her snakes are doing. Ian ignored her for months.

She then contacted him to return the snakes. He ignored her request.

She then posted on a forum and then Ian went, Whoa! I wanted to talk to you in private. I only ignored you this time for week. When would that be?

How did he try to resolve this again?

While I can understand private vs the herp society business and I can understand how some might not want to drawl conclusions of what the original deal was, it isn't hard to see how poorly this was handled.

He ignored all requests for months. He ignored her request for the snakes back. He accused her of being unsavory type of person because he heard rumors she ran off with light bulbs.

What a guy. I bet he will address problems and concerns in a timely manner both in business and for the herp society.

Ok, *now* all of my posts have been removed from the KHS FB page, and I've been removed from the page because I can no longer post or Like" others' posts.

Way to stand up and show the quality of your character, KHS.
 
Wow! Not only did they delete my post on FB within minutes, they made it so that I can't comment or like anything on their FB page. Incredible.
 
This is a private matter, not related to the KHS and it's being handled through legal channels now. The KHS is NOT INVOLVED in their dispute, regardless of his position in the club and can't allow the club to be dragged into it. This was something that occurred outside of the KHS, not a KHS sponsored transaction, in Clarksville, Indiana, and is a problem between two individuals. The KHS is not being cowardly, it's being protected from an outside event. I talked to Ian earlier today, he is dealing with a death in the family, and was pepper sprayed as part of his job training.
 
At this point, anything out of Ian's mouth is pure conjecture.....I don't believe a word he says, without concrete evidence. He has not backed up one thing he has said......not one. And many of his claims would be easily resolved with pictures, etc.....he huffs and puffs but doesn't have any steam behind his words.
 
Also, I find it odd that he would be "excited" about getting pepper sprayed, to the point of making several FB posts about it......but a death in his family, which he makes no mention of on FB, is causing him such personal anguish so as to not respond to the situation? Seems a little off, wouldn't you say?

Even Ron, the founder of KHS, thinks something is up.

I really would like to see what attorney would take this up. Perhaps he's delivering that cease & desist letter that Ian threatened earlier?

What I have learned:
Never ever trust Ian Curtis
Maybe see if starting a Louisville Herp Society is feasible. Obviously the KHS is not a reputable place anymore.

It is amazing how lawyers and dead people show up in a thread when people's backs are against the wall on the BOI.
 
It's not my place to guess what really happened, all I know is the club I love is being badmouthed because people are taking sides about something none of them were present to witness. The KHS will live on, and I hope that with a lawyer mediating, they can get their personal issue resolved. I truly hope that you all know that each person is responsible for their own actions and none of this is club sanctioned so please try not to hold the KHS accountable for a members actions outside of the club. The truth will be fully revealed in time with the law involved, let's all try to reserve our judgement until then.
