Bad Guy BEWARE "IguanaMan" OR "Mark*Jagger"

This "Iguana Man" joined Fauna on Aug 2013.

His manner of speech sounds exactly like Dan Scolaro, "Accept my generous offer to purchase a replacement"

"Guarantee live arrival only...I fulfilled my TOS".

"Accept my generous offer" is a Scolaro trademark.

Please search for a Scolaro thread and cross reference "Iguana Man"s post in this thread.

Check to see if sentence structure/syntax and spelling errors are identical.

Perhaps I am right...perhaps I am wrong.

"Accept my generous offer" set off the Scolaro alarms for me. Not sure why he would bother posting things here and not on KS though. New join date...accept my generous offer....Dan is banned...Iguana Man is new.

I'll leave the rest of this for the BOI detectives and a moderator.

O.k. I couldn't get a good thread to pop up that had the Scolaro key words..."accept my generous offer"...and "live arrival only"...etc. and other mannerisms.

So, here is a nice e-mail to me regarding a problem transaction because I did not:
A. bother reading the B.O.I.
B. think that I could have a problem with a neonate arboreal, supposedly cbb...

But this will be good for comparisons to "Iguana TARD" above. If I'm wrong, then my apologies to Dan...(NOT)

I think you need to take a break from your anger and consider the great
offer I made as our agreement is for live arrival and I met the terms and even
extended a generous offer to extend the guarantee to give another baby at
below cost. No offense, but had the snake been through hell during shipping
and dropped dead an hour after arrival, it would obviously not be my fault
and I would of met the terms of sale and owed nothing. I take the same risks
when I buy animals and have had stuff arrive dead and cooked from bad
handling and I never blamed the seller.

If you want, you can wait until I get some cb 13 babies this fall/winter
and I can perhaps sell 2 for the price of one. Either case, I am sure if you
sent a snake to someone and it vomited on them that you would not want it
back so I am perplexed as to why you would even think I would want it back. I
would suggest perhaps giving it a pinky head every five days and soak it
often to keep it hydrated and it should do fine but threatening to take away
my money from the many children I support won't work. I worked as a federal
officer for 20 years so am not kin to threats and the such. As far as belly
twists and shrinkage is concerned, I obviously cannot see their bellies so
its obviously a guess as to what may of occured at your end. It surely did
not happen here. They are a fragile species and they rarely crash however
it can happen and I am glad to help you get another specimen that is much
better running and grown a bit more as it was a jumbo baby hold back and can go
the 200 dollars for it but I am taking a great loss selling it at that
price and think you should consider my generous offer.

Here's what happened..Tuan P. purchased 4.4 impressa from me. My packing/shipping was perfect. 4 tropical fish styros, containing 2 tortoises per. Each tortoise in it's own cloth bag with newspaper. Newspaper used to as packing around each tortoise in each styro. 1- 40 hour heat pack taped to inside of each styro lid. Small ventilation holes in each styro. These 4 boxes were put into a "quad" cardboard box, designed specifically for holding 4 styros. Several small ventilation holes punched in cardboard to allow air exchange. Temp in NY that day was in the high 30's, low 40's F..Shipped Delta Dash, Ft. Lauderdale to La Guardia on 11/29/13. Box arrives in NY 4:30 pm. Tuan picks up at 5:03 pm. 7:30 pm he either calls or texts (perhaps both) and claims 1 female DOA. And 1 looking "sick". I ask for photo of DOA female. And advise him to soak the "sick" one and keep me informed. After receiving pics of the DOA, I refund his $, plus $30 so he can ship DOA back to me. No word on the "sick " tortoise until approx. 3 weeks later when he claims it died. (Dec.17) Now he wants a free replacement or full refund for the 2nd allegedly dead tortoise. My only guarantee is LIVE ARRIVAL. I can't be held responsible for the animals once they are in his care. I made a generous offer to sell him another Impressa at my landed cost (next time they come in) as a good faith gesture, even though I had no responsibility to do so, to make up for the 2nd allegedly dead tortoise..I was getting tired of explaining all of this to him over and over. I finally told him he had 24 hours to accept my offer. He declined. I recinded the offer when he sent me an email trying to trick me into agreeing to send him a FREE tortoise within 1 month (that was earlier today). My generosity has it's limits. Thanx for reading. Sincerely, Mark Thomas Jagger. Key West, Florida.

This same seller is trying to sell a big green anaconda for $7500 in the classifieds here now. If you've got a snake that you think is worth that much money it seems like you'd take a picture of it. Thanks for the warning.

Bingo...
Any seller that constantly puts higher end reptiles in the classifieds and hardly ever provide pictures with the ad, this should immediatly send up red flags to the buyer. Its like they have something to hide.

Interesting...Dan Scolaro is from Deerfield Beach, FL...Marks profile says he is from Key West, Florida but he says he shipped the tortoises form Ft. Lauderdale, Florida...dangerously close to Deerfield Beach...

All the questions and concerns being asked of you in this thread and this is the only thing you choose to address?

What questions Megan? Did anyone ask me a question? I didn't see that.. Just a few individuals who are under the erronious assumption that I am actually someone named Dan Scolaro. And apparently, Lucile believes that I have a frozen, 20', 200+ lb. green anaconda in my tiny freezer ! LOL.

I wont say anything about any of those things.

What I will say is it would behoove you to change your TOS. "Live arrival only" is ridiculous. By that logic you can ship anything thats alive and as long as it makes it then your absolved of any liability no matter how sick or unhealthy it may be. Its just a shady business practice, and something that no one should accept. If you cant even so much as guarantee that itll also be healthy when it gets there, and not just alive, then what that tells me is you have absolutely no faith in the health of your animals. Which is an obvious reason for people to stay as far away from you as possible.

Maybe you dont think that way, maybe its just how you think its supposed to be, but I can assure you that anyone with an ounce of sense wont go near you with that kind of mind set.

This seller is just not behaving the way I would expect a good seller to behave. Deaths on a short flight are I suppose conceivable, but if I was a seller and had a turtle come up dead and another ill on a premium shipping method, I would be apologizing to this customer and telling him that I would be looking into the flight. I'd get on the phone and be talking to the airlines immediately.
Instead, the seller seems to want to bully the buyer into hushing up by offering a time limited discount on a turtle he doesn't even have. Why the limit? Answer: to shut the buyer up.

the tortoises was be sick and died before shipped

Yeah. Sounds like that might be a good explanation..

My policy of Live Arrival Only stands..and for good reason. This may seem obvious to some of you out there, but obviously not ALL of you..Once any given animal is out of the sellers care and into the hands of another, a myriad of scenarios can happen. It's far too risky to guarantee the customer will take proper care of the animal. In the case of Tuan, I refunded his money for the alleged DOA Impressa. Done. The other 7 were alive, not just upon arrival, but during the 2.5 hours between the time he picked up the shippment at the airport and the time he got home. Was the vehicle in which he was transporting the tortoises heated to a suitable temp? Nobody knows except Tuan. Did he stop anywhere on his way back home? Nobody knows. A thousand things could have happened that we just don't know for certain. That's the point. Too many X factors. Hence my Live Arrival Only guarantee. Were they all alive upon arrival at LaGuardia? NOBODY KNOWS. Did 1 die on the way back to his home? Again, NOBODY KNOWS. Did his car break down on the trip home? Did he get a call from someone and make a detour? The list is endless of what actually happened, and what he says happened. I honored my guarantee and refunded his $ for the DOA. My responsibility ended there. MTJ

There is a thing called incubation period of many diseases that are out of the buyers/receivers hands in the first week up to a few weeks. It really is a poor policy for an honest business/hobby person.

Live arrival only is a huge red flag to anybody with decent sense.

However this is where proper and effecient documentation and vet records and/or necropsy records come in extremely handy.

Tuan, I am sorry this turned out this way. As much as I disagree with Mark's policy, I agree with him on the fulfilling terms part.

Again, gentle readers, discuss terms before you enter into an agreement with someone, and make sure you understand/ are comfortable with them.

I've already said I wouldn't purchase under these terms, but that doesn't mean that I think your case had merit, Tuan.

good sounds Mark , now he is trying to find something out on my way back home to illuminate for his business , i just remind you this Mark i was gave you a call at my airport location, i was asking you could i open the package here or at home ? and you are the one who asking me how long am i getting back home ? and do i go straight back to home or stop anywhere ?
i said it took around 1hour- 1hour 10" mins and i will go straight back to home. and you say it's ok to open at home .
now you are telling the untruth story ,
keep continueing your untruth story Mark , everyone will see your truth face now . good luck liar

I don't mind responding to legitimate questions here. Character assination, however won't be tolerated. BULLYING a customer? Knowingly shipping dead and or unhealthy specimens? My upbringing procludes me from answering those remarks in a manner which might be offensive to some..and humerous to others.

Well thats your choice. Just dont expect anyone to agree to it, nor should they. And be sure to explain that in detail to anyone who inquires about buying an animal from you, that "if its alive when it gets there then dont call me with any problems". Because thats what your essentially saying. And your completely comfortable with that I guess.

You can sit and play with hypothetical scenarios all day. Does that mean you should not guarantee your animals?

I have only ever sold a handful of animals, and with no animals to back them up if they did by chance die, would guarantee the animals 100% for 30 days. I have not had a problem with any of those transactions.

Point is... Stop playing the what if game and guarantee your animals. People who sell chameleons, which are some of the most fragile animals have some kind of guarantee past live arrival.

It just sounds like paranoia to me.

In regards to this matter, you should replace the animals that have fallen ill or died. In the world of business... The customer is always right. Take care of people and their business will stay with you.

Mark , every word , every of your untruth story showed your face .
