    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Pixie77 - fraud

I think I just lost money too with this guy

I did send him funds via paypal friends so I think I am screwed. Any ideas on how to get my money back? Does anyone have a full address for this guy, I will gladly file a police report on this if anyone wants to join me.
 
It would seem so, esp. by what has been said, but is turtledan77, and Pixie77, the same person?
It is not looking good.

You can make the attempt via Paypal, but the manner in which it was sent may thwart the possibility of resolution due to the terms.

If you used a credit card to provide the funding via Paypal, then you could try to go through your credit card issuer.

I can clarify that - he is banned for 7 days because he failed to comply with instructions to put his full name in his profile. My personal feeling is that the name on the account is bogus...but I was giving him an opportunity to correct it before pursuing that. (Just like I did recently with another participant in this thread that had an incomplete, and wrong, name in his profile.) I'm leaning toward the location being incorrect, as well.

I do fully anticipate that the account will end up being permanently banned, but he might surprise me.

The person had an incomplete name in his profile <STOP>
The name on the PayPal account didn't match the name of the person with whom you were dealing. <STOP>
The person requests payment as Gift (Friends/Family) <STOP>

Amen! This has been repeated time and time again.
 
This situation is a little odd. He seemed interactive prior to now. Bought, sold, and discussed stuff here. He has been on the site today as of this afternoon. His two profiles claim very distant locations from each other. Kind of looks, as things stand, like he has been liquidating stock as well as taking payments from multiple people for the same animals. Also, with the second account having been registered in May, it looks like this may have been planned for quite some time. Maybe.
 
The name John No is what his image hosting account is under.

The turtledan77 screen name is in use across a number of message boards.

Just seems odd to me. There could be some plausible explanation, I suppose, but things are not looking great right now.

This is what I've gathered so far. I inquire about the turtles, he sends pics, details about them, etc. He was very fast with replying to me, but as soon as I pay that all stops. He says he can ship at the latest wednesday, meaning the turtles should be here today. But of course, nothing. Now, the odd thing is, I just spoke to username dcfrye on the phone, and he says he bought all 6 and got them 11/11. He said he spoke to "Dan" on the phone and he seemed nice. After "Dan" sent him pics of the box and shipping label to his address, he received them the next day. Then, he saw the ad was up again and commented saying he bought them all already. "Dan" still never takes down the post. He said he was hopeful that my turtles would still come, and he may delay shipping because of weather conditions, as he had done with him. The weird thing is, he has two separate paypal accounts. One was for actual use that dcfrye paid to and got the turtles, and the other was the scam account ([email protected]), the one I paid to. Two totally different accounts. Now, mgrpahix is telling me that he sent her pics of 3 Uromastyx, but with a quick google search she found them in google images, and after paying and he stopped replying she's not hopeful they'll come tomorrow. Overall this is off, although I think he actually had 6 turtles for sale, sold them, but saw how many other inquiries he had about the turtles. Perhaps he then kept selling long gone turtles, raking in the payments on a separate paypal. Not really sure entirely whats going on, I just want him to be held accountable for his actions.
 
Speaking with dcfrye and he forwarded me his conversation with "Dan". The e-mail address "Dan" has is totally different from the address of the person i'm talking to. The one dcfrye is talking to makes complete sentences with punctuated grammar. The person I spoke to has almost broken english and incomplete grammar. I think it's two different people
