In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It seems like he is just using the heat pack as an excuse and planned it knowing you are out of the country and he thought he could get away with it. This isn't the first post where his ethics have been questioned. I've had the same problem before, realizing I was out of heat packs or other shipping supplies, it's not hard to get them in 24 hours or less. Just about every state has local groups on facebook and if it came down to it I'm pretty sure if he posted in his local group someone would have sold him a heat pack. Anyway I don't really think the heat pack was the real issue. I'm not sure what his real reason is but I'm guessing either the gecko died or he decided to steal the money. If you read the other thread here I think most will agree that either is a possibility.

So was the shipping date set a few days prior to shipping or was this something you had discussed for awhile? I only ask because I can't always get out to ship on specific days. I would however refund the money with no issues at all if the buyer wasn't willing to wait. I might have a hard time finding a proper heat pack here, but I try my best to make sure I have plenty on hand. I can see running out this time of the year since I normally don't ship in the winter. But this is 100% on him.

I do think that James would be best to just refund the full payment with no other delays. That is the right thing to do since it was his issue that caused the delay in shipping. You did tell him that you were not in the US and would be traveling to receive the geckos. It appears he was aware of it and should be apologizing and refunding the money asap.

Julia is correct though. This isn't the first time people have questioned James and the way he reacts to situations.

I have been reading some post from other folks and now i am even scared to take the animals. I purchased two super giants, one of which was the majority of the money and a low cost one (about 175) to be a mate. Now im worrying if I do get the animals will they even be worth it? I was planning to order from Geckos Unlimited but when I sent the emails out james emailed me first.

I emailed james a few hours ago asking him what my exact compensation will be for the matter if I choose not to accept a refund and the guy has not even bothered to respond. This may very well be my last transaction with him

I have not ordered from him, but I say trust your gut on it. I linked to another thread of his. He argued about genetics then said he lied on purpose. Not someone I would ever trust about anything. I can say that he has a pretty negative rep with a lot of trusted leopard gecko breeders.

I filed disputes on paypal for each of the payments. He is not responding and I want to have the cases open before it is too late. I am willing to negotiate with him but my guy just tells me to just get my money back and find a reputable breeder on here.

Good luck with your pay pal claim I hope they rule in your favor. If they don't I would suggest contacting the bank or credit card company you used to fund the paypal transaction.

now as you see he is upset because I filed a dispute in paypal to at least safe gaurd my funds until we come to a resolution

It looks like the seller doesn't care much about you as a customer, Ezra. Pretty disappointing when you were going through so much to even get the animals. I would trust your instincts about what steps to take...certainly he hasn't shown any inclination to lift a finger to help you out so I personally would try to get the money back through PayPal and avoid this seller.

Good luck and hope things work out in the future.

Based on the messages posted by the OP it looks like the ship date was set about six days prior to the actual date.

I'm with Theresa, forget James and his geckos..file a claim with Paypal and buy from someone else. What if you do receive them and something's wrong. Do you want to dredge through this bs again? There's plenty of geckos in the sea.:)

Between the issues in the other thread with his genetics and health of his animals and how he has treated you so far I agree, get your money back and be glad you dodged a bullet. There are plenty of great breeders out there. I paid for a gecko yesterday around 10 am and had it by 9 am this morning. I wasn't expecting to get it till next week when I paid but the breeder asked if I'd like it today and made the effort to get her out to me today. James had at least 6 days to prepare to ship your geckos and couldn't even get it done. I think he's made it clear all he cares about is the money not his customers.

Thank you I have been checking out geckosetc.com and see a few there I like but anyone that can point me in the direction of some really nice giants or super giants I would be happy.

In relation to James, he is not happy I filed my dispute and has ceased negotiations with me. I now have no choice but to escalate it to a claim in hopes of recovering my money. I will wait a few more months to own my first geckos and settle for my lovely ball pythons in the interim. Little disappointed as I was anticipating those animals and was even willing to fly just for them.

On the up side the airline is willing to credit me the majority of my ticket fee until my next flight so I guess in a nutshell its working itself out. Took allot of pleading and explanation but I was lucky to meet an awesome manager.

100% fault is upon the seller (James).
That being the case, further complicated with Ezra's location (which was known, early on, by seller), James should refund Ezra.
I mention the further complication, of Ezra's location, but James' failure to ship/deliver, based on lack of supplies (esp. well enough past agreement), is enough for Ezra to merit a refund.

Ezra, do not drop the Paypal dispute, or claim (if you make it a claim), unless/until James gives you a refund, or an acceptable resolution, and you have that in hand (not just his word).
If PayPal does not help, go to your credit card company or bank (whichever was used to pay via Paypal).

....

That is good to see.

I agree with the majority here.

James was well aware that Ezra was travelling here from abroad to receive the geckos. James was well aware of the time element involved and agreed to ship to the FedEx Center in Newark on Thursday for a Friday pickup, knowing full well when Ezra would arrive.

As a vendor, it is James' responsibility to have shipping materials on hand in order to satisfy customer orders, especially if he is actively advertising and especially when he had an entire month to do so in this particular case. He failed. Miserably.

Also note that in a subsequent email, after he failed to ship when promised, James asks "please avoid Friday delivery when possible". Perhaps that should have been broached by James during the month this transaction transpired and before he agreed to ship on Thursday for a Friday delivery to the FedEx center.

Of course, there is also the possibility the heat pack excuse is entirely bogus and James is just a (censored) and taking advantage.

Ezra is due a complete refund, and James may want to reconsider his "customer service".

That is a matter which is not appropriate for this particular thread - feel free to ask for such recommendations in the gecko discussion area, or by PM

sorry I'm still getting accustom to the forum and the rules. thank you for the advice and we'll wishes everyone. I will update you all on how it works out. From my ball pythons I know some amazing breeders and this one guy is just an exception to all the amazing people I have met. once I get my money back I will explore other breeders for my Leo's.

The same excuse of heat pack was given to me wednesday by some one,a week before he said he was going to ship if we have at least 40, we had upper 50s and wednesday 45 overnight he didn't aswer my emails untuil 2'days later and said he did have heat packs.
Same cheap excuse.
I wont said how he is,but im still mad,he sell here.
