I never said Tom added color to his photos. I may have said I think his photos are inaccurate - BIG DIFFERENCE. You have previously stated to me that you think Tom "adds" color to his photos. I dont believe that at all. I know Tom and he wouldnt do that. He doesnt need to, his animals are nice enough to sell themselves without any illegitimate photo manipulation.

The female sunglow you mentioned has not been through her second shed yet.

I wont be doing any photo updates until they go through another shed or two. The current photos are accurate as to their current look.

Ryan I looked back at that email and you stated you think Tom's photos were inaccurate; it was Peter Kahl that told me Tom adds red color to his photos….. Pete had no problem bad mouthing Tom.

Will you send me an updated pic on the sunglow when she sheds? Do you think she will turn out as red as your first litter of sunglows?
 
Bottom line here - *insert first name here* Tipton is well known in the boa community as a time robbing psychopath. Tom and Amanda Burke are well known in the community as good, honest breeders with exceptional animals and exceptional service. I personally have purchased high end animals from them and cannot say enough good things about them. Tipton has serious psychological issues and some underlying motivation to get back at boa breeders that, according to him, once wronged him. He's a well documented liar and his comments in regards to the Burkes shouldnt be considered as any sort of a legitimate complaint here at the BOI. I could get a number of respectable, proven-honest boa breeders (in addition to the ones that have already chimed in here) to corroborate this information if need be. At this point, he's really not worth anymore of my time personally.

Poor ol' confused M. Tipton. I've sold all my animals except a pair of arabesque albinos and the single sunglow male.

It takes time to sell. I produced over 70 animals. I have no problem selling them over a span of a year and fully expected that.

If you actually are purchasing boas to breed and eventually sell be ready for quite a bit of struggle. Many sales are from online enthousiasts who are well entrenched in the hobby. You have already smeared your name to such a degree that it is going to be extremely difficult for you. I tell you that not because I want to hurt your feelings or put your hopes down... but because it is the honest truth. I really do feel sorry for you because you clearly have mental issues that may or may not be your fault. Good luck.

No acctually I am just buying the boas to keep as pets and to breed for my own liking, I don't care about selling snakes.... to be honest I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of it. Any ways I don't have to sell snakes to make a living, I make over 8K a month so I think I'm pretty well off. I was just waiting on my tax returns to come in before I purchased anything. I don't care if you sold 70 snakes.... I know people that sell 100lbs of pot a week. Trust me your nothing.

P.S. - He was signing those previous emails as "Matt" because that alias had already been identified as him. This all gets pretty confusing because of the numerous aliases he has used (5+ easily, maybe 10).

Why was I even considering dealing with someone who was going back and forth with such shananigans?

A. I did feel sorry for him - he has mental issues.

B. I believe at that point he had purchased the sunglow from the Burke's, leading me to believe he was actually interested in buying. If this was before then, then I just hadn't caught on fully to the fact that he has little to no intention to ever buy. We we're certainly all shocked to hear that he actually got something from the Burke's!
 
One last point here:

I have a fairly extensive background with photography and am fairly well known in the boa community as one of the more accomplished boa photographers. Usually when I go to shows I'm often referred as "the guy with the really good boa photos". But I just wanted to comment on the accuracy of digital camera in regards to color specifically. No camera is exact - the idea is to get as close as possible to reality, but none are perfect. So many factors play into what you see in a photos. Range of explosure, white balance, color saturation levels of each color band in relation to that particular model, etc. Color saturation levels, in particular red, are one of the hardest things for camera manufacterers to nail down.

I personally use a fairly good camera (Nikon DSLR - D50), with a myriad of high end equipment ($500 lens, $300 external flash, etc). I also take great care in my white balancing. I do absolutely everything I can on my end to ensure my shots are accurate. And you know what - they're STILL not perfect. The inherit color saturation levels built into the camera would need to be individually adjusted in post processing to get it as close to perfect as possible. Who's going to do that? Probably no one seeing as how much time would be involved into processing each and every photo in such a way. All we can do is take photos as close to accurate as we can. If you get a boa based off a photo, you can expect it to be VERY close to what you saw in the photo, but not necessarily EXACTLY what you see. Is the lighting EXACTLY the same as when the photo was taken? No? Then its going to look a bit different. Is your monitor accurately calibrated for exposure and color saturation? Almost assuredly not. There are just too many variables.

Altering photos with the intention of enhancing an animal is a whole different story. That's not something the Burke's would do because their bloodline is WIDELY known as one of the top sunglow lines out there. They dont need to enhance a thing in their photos. And there are more than enough 3rd parties with photos of their own to back up the quality of their bloodline.
 
We we're certainly all shocked to hear that he actually got something from the Burke's!

Jason, We raise tobacco on our farm. I am into the heavy machine operator and he does the computer science which he has a bachlres in. I have pictures of our 300 acre farm with 3 man made lakes if your interested in seeing. I made the lakes myself.
 
I really don't care what any of you have to say, I buy my animals from other breeders and they have no problem taking my money.
 
I got a good laugh out of this thread......Matt Tipton is a known a-hole in the KY reptile community.

He has been proven several times to be an intellectual property theif by myself and others when he routinely steals pictures from breeders' websites and claims to own the animals.

Not too long ago he posted a picture on the KY Reptile Expo forum of a Leucistic Ball Python claiming to own it......turns out the snake and picture belonged to a man who lived in the United Kingdom!

It has also been proven by people in the KY area that Matt Tipton is a convicted felon, does NOT make 100K a year (he in fact works a low paying gov't appointed job, likely picking up trash) and does not own or live on a farm. He lives in a rundown ghetto apartment in Frankfort. He is a phony, a liar and a thief.

I'm just glad others are seeing him for what he really is.
