    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

If you are a Breeder or Vendor and wnt to be interviewed and show off what you have. You can do that . We can plug your business, merchandise, and animals, whatever you have.

The initial guessing game approach was like a dated 70's marketing ploy.
And then when you posted while you were supposed to be teaching a class, is that not shortchanging your students?

I think a lot of the appeal of a convention is actually being there- seeing friends, looking at vendors and what they have brought and actually being able to make a purchase. I have in fact enjoyed posts of pictures of the convention because people here take pix of what was meaningful to them, but I think that a video approach would only hold my interest for a few minutes and I certainly wouldn't pay to see what you have when people post pics every year after the convention.

Unless, of course, you could promise the following:

Dan Scolaro in a red dress
Buff male reptile aficionados in naked mud pit fights

Not that I need to explain to you anything, but I hate smart ass's ! I just had knee surgery so one of my students taught my class for me. I just needed to be around. Some people cant make it because of location, financial reasons whatever it may be. You can look at all the pics you want. This is not for you than. You are probably the type that has never stepped out and tried something new. Dont watch, dont realy care!!!!!!

And Dave, don't you mean you guys participate in cage fighting during shows all the time? :D
 
I think it would depend on the price. A lot of folks who cannot make the Daytona show still like to see videos and pictures, but of course.. they can see tons of that shot by attendees for free after the show.
If it's cheap.. maybe people would think it was neat. But I think you need to change your approach in advertising it, because insulting people who you want money from is not a good beginning.
Instead of "dissing" Lucille, why couldn't you have pointed out some cool things that would be shown, and be nice and (need I say it?) professional in your postings about it?

I probably would have considered paying for something like this,even though I'm attending one of the days, but not if the representative is a big jerk online when he's supposed to be barking for his upcoming program.
 
Googled the location he had in his profile and it came back Mississippi. Wasn't worth my time to do more research, not like he had a snake I wanted :shrug01:

Its going to be between five and ten dollars. Oh wow, please re-read all the post and see who was the jerk!!! I simply am trying to put together a reptile show, the first of its kind. And wam, people came out of no where and started slamming me! You expect someone to be rude and Im supposed to be nice and try to point out some good things. Thats their character, I owe them nothing!!!!! Can not believe your trying to turn this around.
 
I was slightly interested until the attitude from him oozed out. Yeah, we REALLY need people like that promoting our hobby, as if there aren't enough out there already.

One of these days I'm gonna go enter the cage match with Dave and the rest of 'em, sounds like fun. Centipede racing, roach tossing, naked piggyback rides, good clean fun!

I have just gotten started. That was my first post on this site. There will be over 600 e mails from Wayne hill to go out to all the venders. Harry from monstersnakes is sending out 20,000 e mails. That is with in 24 hours. Plus you have no clue who I have talked to in this business that has backed me up and told me to go for it. Im sure you have done more for this business than anyone and I am sure you could do a better Job..... Wish I could be like you bro.
 
I have already had to slap down on a member and delete their post here. I strongly suggest that EVERYONE keep the discussion civil on this site. I have very little *free* time lately, and am very short on patience, so please take this as advice that needs to be heeded.

I will always defend myself against people who are being rude to me. If thats attitude, well I cant help that. Show me what I did that was so horrible, show me where my attitude was not just defending my self??

Sorry, I just wanted to post what I was trying to do. Im sure you have read everything. If I was in the wrong I am sorry. Its just hard for me to let people be jerks to me when I did not do anything. This Is my last post about the problem. We are doing a Pay Per View show at the Daytona venue. Its will only be between five and ten bucks. If you like please view and enjoy. If you are not interested thats fine too.

Two wrongs NEVER make a right. If you have been in business any length of time, you should know that taking the high road is ALWAYS the best path to take.
 
Alllllllrighty, then.............now that we have duly heeded the 'big meanie,' let's see if we can get some more info out of Todd...the show is about 1-1/2 months away, NOW would be a good time to get more info out there!

Will this be a LIVE ppv or TAPED? Or is that a moot question & ALL ppv's are live? I don't do ppv at all...I ask, simply because if it's live (while that may be a good thing), those of us attending won't be able to see it. If it's taped, anyone that went might be able to catch it after they got home...you know people will want to see if they can catch a glimpse of themselves wandering around!
Or will it be live, initially, and shown at a later date as well?
While I can tell you that I personally would not pay to see it live, I might not be adverse to paying $5 to see it at another point in time, but that is as much as I would pay.
When will the televised advertising start? Time's a-wastin'!

I suppose we are just not meant for each other, because my butt, while possibly brilliant, is my least intelligent part :rolleyes:

I hope your knee gets better soon, and I wish you the best on your endeavor (heads for the high road)......
