Yeh, it's hard to know what is fun and what is not until someone raps you back, I can never work it out either....
Now I have to say I'm sorry critical bill, I meant no offense
At least I can get back to my charts now(work rocks). Have a good night all.
Apology accepted RuPaul.
Maybe in the future we can even start interacting together using our real names, like mine which is Chuck and yours which seems to be Jerkoff....rrrrr...I mean Travis.
We'll get there I'm sure.
Now wouldn't that be a splendid idea. The thought of being attentive and caring about the things you are being paid to do?
Now I seem to understand how you and Matt are like two peas in a pod.
It's all fun and games until a moderator shows up....

Cheese it, it's the cops.
..I don't know or care who or what race the hand or palm is attached to or if it's Matt's or not. The point is...he is representing that snake as his...and two things are obvious from the pic...one, the enclosure is dirty...two, there are multiple snakes in it. I would not keep my snakes in such conditions...and if I had a partner who was keeping my/our snakes in such conditions, I would part company with him and I sure as hell wouldn't use a pic that he took like that to represent my animals then he still should come and explain why he chose to represent his animals with pictures of them in obvious sub-par housing.

New ad, different snake, same horrid conditions.
Link for ad: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=32&de=710700
From his ad:
With more clutches hatching soon i'd rather move these quickly than continue to feed and house them. The pics are a 08' sibling pied and 07' sibling caramels. These hets were all produced from homozygous males x heterozygous females.
Probably should have read:
With more clutches hatching soon i'd rather move these quickly than continue to feed and house them or clean their tubs. The pics are a 08' sibling pied and 07' sibling caramels. These hets were all produced from homozygous males x heterozygous females and as the pics show they are housed in piss poor conditions because I am a lazy chump just trying to make a quick buck.
Maybe I should just beat it. No one wants to be defeated. Showing how funky strong is your fight. It doesn't matter who's wrong or right. Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it.

Again matt you have excuses um, I mean, answers fro everything. I see someone who has cut corners and makes excuses for everything brought up. I'm not even going to bother to play your game and yes you are playing a game. Cut the bs and get your crap straightened out.
First off, you should ask before just assuming something like the 2 snakes pictured live in that one tub. I had the clown’s tub open and the pastel caramel was in my hand and came from his own tub. The tub was open so both snakes could be in the pic (I didn’t take the pic for the ad, it was taken in 08’).
The 2nd picture of the pied is not even my cage or my snake but that snake is a 08’ sibling to the 09’ het pieds I have for sale. The pic is from a professional full time breeder who’s been breeding snakes for over 2 decades and I’m sure someone from this thread bashing the appearance of the cage has purchased from him at one time or another. He has a very very impressive collection with hundreds of snakes. I know for a fact that his snakes are well cared for and his cages are cleaned weekly. Also, what’s in the cage is water from a spilled bowl from the snake or from when the cage was pulled open. He also pours some water on the paper to increase humidity and avoid shedding problems. A snake having wet paper from WATER does not mean that they are living in “piss poor conditions” DAND. The pic of the pastel caramel was taken by me, and that is my hand and yes if anyone still doesn’t know I am black, I’m just light skinned. Also, I did not “pull the ad” it expired.
The reason that some of my pics don’t have dates is because a while ago my camera was stolen. After getting a new camera I put the date in my pics so every pic that has no date was taken at least months-years ago. I would post pics of all my cages, but that’s impossible for anyone who has a sizable collection and I’m sure even if I did someone would try to find something wrong with them or come up with an excuse of why there wasn’t anything wrong with them.
Also, any pic that was take on a black carpet was from when I was a teenager and before I moved out of my parent’s home. The only “dirt” that’s seen on the floor in any of my pics is either Styrofoam (from cutting it to insulate a box) or cypress much from the cage directly in front of the pic. The snake from that cage is 6’ and about 30lbs so I had to more or less pull her out which also pulls out some cypress mulch onto the floor. Cypress mulch on a floor is no indication that someone’s whole house is dirty or the condition of the animal is substandard. I guess I’m the only person who’s ever spilled substrate onto the floor…
And to go off topic for one second, everyone here claims to not be racist but wasn’t it you critical bill (Chuck Kimmel) that made this statement:
“Dang, I'm not up in here to testify, but statements such as yours could be received as borderline racist, dog.
So I have to ask, are you out of your cotton-pickin mind? ”
Many black people would take offence to that statement for one, you were making a mockery of someone elses racially geared statement, two, basically EVERYTHING else you said in that statement was said to mock the stereotypical idea of black people; people that testify in church, using ebonics, and picking cotton which you said directly referring to slaves/slavery times.
It’s funny how someone who “If you put their brain in a horse it would run backwards” can even correct your statement as it’s full of errors.
You said this in another thread where many people had said things about me like:
Matt Oakley (EastCoastReptiles171) is a great guy- I just met p with him at Hamburg and picked up a female pastel from him. The snake was as described and in great shape- looked much better in person! Matt was very professional, answered all my questions threw email in a timely maner. We did a pick up since we both were going to the show- which saved me shipping costs. The snake looked great upon inspection and is not settled in to her new home. I would do business with him again in the fture- I am very pleased with this pastel.

I have heard nothing but good things about Matt and his animals. Will more than likely purchase from him in the short future
I have bought two bps from him... Both healthy and strong eaters.... Matt is a good guy!
Matt is a good guy! I live near him and when I bought my pied from him he was nice enough to give me a tour of his place. He's got some awesome and super well cared for snakes!
I purchased some lizards from him a few months back, I had an issue with one of them, he was quick to offer a resolution. He answered all my questions and worked with me... he's a good guy in my book.
i just emailed him wanting to buy another snake.....
Matt has always answered my questions that I have ever had. I have never had any problem with matt. Good Guy In my book. Also good if you dont have all the money right away. With payment plans
Wow death of a person and feelin like you got screwed in a deal are two completly different things. If there not maby you need to re-think life in general. Get over it there are so many people who had a great time dealing with matt.
I recently (1 month ago or so) bought a BP from Matt. The transaction was smooth, he was helpful, and the packaging was standard and well done, and the snake is healthy and exactly as advertised, nothing bad about the whole deal at all. In fact I just ordered 4 more BP's from him a couple days ago and he has been quick to reply to emails and again easy to deal with. I am actually surprised to hear about the bad deals people have had with him. As far as I have personally seen he is great.
I will however, in the interest of full disclosure, repost in a few days when I get these new snakes and report on the packaging and the state of the snakes either good or bad.
But unless there is something that drastically changes my opinion of Matt in this current deal I would have to say he is a Good Guy.
Another delivery from Matt, another GREAT deal. As you can see from the pictures below, the packing was what I would call "industry standard". The box was well sealed, vented, insulated; inside was packed snugly, snakes secure in bags, paper towel in bags for extra cushion and for any needed absorbtion (as per the SYR video); and most importantly perfect healthy snakes. What else needs to be said. GOOD GUY.
These pictures are from the second delivery I got from Matt, the first, a month ago as I said, was just the same. I'm not denying maybe you people had a less than desirable shipment from Matt in the past but, if that was the past, it seems clear to me that now he has gotten it together in the shipping department, and combine that with his great prices and beautiful snakes and to me, he is the best thing out there. The reply that Haydenphoto made above about staying away from someone "dumping their snakes" is valid, or I should say WOULD be valid if that is what Matt was doing, but it's not. He is simply offering great prices on quality animals. We are all so jaded that we worry that any good thing must have a bad side just waiting to jump out and spoil it but I'm here to tell you that:
Sometimes a good deal...is just a good deal. And Matt Oakley's Ball Pythons are a good deal.
And just to clarify (for you REALLY jaded herpers out there) I do not know Matt in ANY WAY other than as a purchaser of his Ball Pythons, I have never met him, I've never even spoken to him on the phone. Email only. Have a great day.
It’s also funny how when a valid question like:
I have never dealt with Matt, so I really have no experience with doing business with him. Regarding his animals, yes I saw the pics of his setups and I agree with some of the other posters that some of those containers are WAY too small for large bloods or some of the other large constrictors he has (I use a similar size tub for juvenile kingsnakes). I also do not see the connection between the cleanliness of his apartment/home and the cleanliness of his snakes. SOME of his tanks had some condensation issues with them but that can happen in a matter of hours if the snake dumps its water dish and there is no substrate to soak it up. However, never having been to see his set-up in person I will not speculate as to the typical condition he keeps his snakes in.
All of that being said, Trevor I have a some questions for you. Looking over the vet reports in detail shows me that during both of the initial visits, both recorded on 7/1/09, the vet found that the snake appeared normal and healthy and that there was no need for treatment for a respiratory infection at this time. Not until two FULL weeks later did the vet run the tests by taking oral swabs from the snake but only because you insisted that it be done (the notes say you requested the tests). It IS possible to over-treat a snake and cause more problems than were originally there. Fenbendazole (panacur) in particular can have drastic effects if the animal is not kept hydrated during treatment (not to mention it has NOTHING to do with a respiratory issue, the vet was merely broad spectrum treating for parasites). Looking at the reports in their entirety I see that you and the vet tried a total of 3 different medications within ~3 weeks and then finally moving to baytril during the final stages. This is a lot of antibiotics to be pushing through an animal. The vet also never notes mites on the snake until the 13th (again two weeks later). I also agree with other posters that looking over the posts from the other ball python forum, I see no mites on this snake at the time of the photos.
TWO WEEKS is a lifetime for a snake to develop problems. Please explain your quarantine procedures so we can make sure that there is not a possibility that during quarantine the snake got too cold etc. I have very little experience with bloods, however I have seen snakes develop respiratory wheezes REALLY quickly. Also, just to make sure we are on the same page blood pythons are, by their very nature, very "hissy" and this is not a sign of a respiratory infection.
I am just trying to reconcile the issues I have with the treatment of the snake and the claims that the snake was sick when it arrived but the vet noted that it appeared normal and healthy. And that's coming from a vet.
is asked which is direct proof that the snake I shipped the guy wasn’t sick (which is why this post was supposedly started) it’s ignored and someone tries to find another topic to bash me about. I’d really like the question of why the VET would say the snake was healthy on the first 2 visits and never said anything about mites if the animal had all these problems with it from the start???? When something like this is asked, NO ONE responds. When I ask important questions or make important statements the answers are avoided and someone tries to find another way to attack me….
